Got home and found it didn't have batteries with it or an internal fuse. Batteries...not problem, 2 AA's. The fuse, different story. I can't find anything close to the nomenclature it requires. At first I thought it was just a normal glass barrel type but they don't seem to fit, I tried a number of various types & lengths. Here's what's call for, any suggestions?  F500mAH, 250v, GB odel GF-0306

I really like the meter but have yet to be able to use it. It's a Gardner Bender(?) GMT-319. I would have liked to know about the lack of fuse being installed before I left the store or I wouldn't have bought it. I've been looking for some time for a decent analog VOM with multiple functions & this seemed to fill the bill. I have a nice digital meter that works fine but often like to use the old fashion analog, it's what I started out with more years ago than I can recall. Also have an old Fluke in need of repair but doubt I ever will send it in.

Ok...I'm slow today. Took a few seconds but realized you're referring to the VOM model number; GMT-319. Been a long day!  Grin

In case you don't have it, here's the link to the meter.

The fuse is a fast acting .5 Amp 250V.  Pretty much any fast acting 500mAh or .5A 250V in the correct physical size will do.  Here's a pack of 5 for $8

isn't amazon.com great?  with more and more and more stores NEVER having what I want in stock and out for months vs. always had in stock prior,  I am giving up store buying and going amazon.com more and more past 1 year.

Heck,  wife orders every few weeks thru amazon prime FREE shipping V8 energy drinks pineapple/orange, etc.  that are actually VERY good tasting and somewhat good for you but has caffeine.  Are cheaper than any store has them in stock for pricewise as well.    I have been looking now at 3 local farm and fleet stores and NONE for past 4 months have had a basic AC Delco oil filter for one of my cars vs. use to always have 3-9 in stock, NO LONGER the case.  I even went as far as to have guy in store scan it and he said 3 are coming in but not know when and that has been over 2 months ago now.   I gave up, amazon.com is cheaper and less hastle.
