Cheaha stuff

it's the new year....and i haven't posted anything in quite some time about Cheaha. things were pretty quiet over the Holidays....other than Sherry, Susan and I ALL getting the flu the day after New years. We all three have been out of work/school...until YESTERDAY!

anyway, several of you have been enquiring about whether i got your check for registration/lodge rooms....as you haven't seen the check clear. We have a STACK of them to cash...and in fact, i'm late sending the Lodge fee as i was out the last 8-9 days! We'll be cashing those checks and sending that payment THIS week........

also, several have emailed me asking if i'm holding some rooms in the hotel? NOPE. You need to either get a cabin, get a chalet, GO ON THE WAITING LIST....and/or camp or stay down in the valley (not the PREFERRED CHOICE!). The Holiday Inn Express of Oxford is the backup hotel again...but it's almost 20 miles away...down the mountain! EVEN IF YOU TAKE A CABIN or CHALET...you can STILL go on the waiting list for a regular hotel room. or....share a room with someone..........etc.........etc.

So, with the New Year now upon us, i start the drum beat back up........boom, boom, boom.............Git-R-Done....go register...you know the drill...etc, etc.....

no chance of snow during the May event.....but....maybe for the pre-ride?

Hey Tim, see Slowroad's post on rooms. They still have a lot of race fans that haven't released rooms.

all i know is i blocked ALL the rooms wayyyyyyyyy wayyyyyy back when. EVERY SINGLE ROOM/CABIN/CHALET we have this confusion almost every year unfortunatley. the race is the weekend before. Most people reserved rooms for our weekend the day they left last year. Of course, to many.....they tried to give you the "race week speach".....but for many...who insisted...they went ahead and reserved the rooms for our dates. So i'm thinking 99% of the rooms taken...are indeed taken by OUR people. NOT RACE people.


that's MY story.....and i'm sticking to it. get on the waiting list, keep checking....take a cabin or a chalet....etc...etc. you know the drill!
