I'm looking to replace my front tire. From what I've read on here Avon seems to be the most popular brand. Someone told me the best place to find them was on bike bandits, they are all on back order. So where would be the next best place to get them? I was hoping to find it less than 150.00, bike bandit wants 220.00 for the front tire, but have none in stock. What is to much for you guys or is no such thing as to much for a good front tire? Thanks

I have not been shopping (I have a 2yo new one ready to go on), but I have been reading here and elsewhere that finding ANY proper size tires for the Valk is getting hard to do.  And, a lot of other bikes don't use valk tire sizes either.

Someone posted a week or two ago that the only front they could find was a Shinko (Journey?).

You would best do a google search typing in the proper size tire (150/80R-17 "for sale") and just see what you can find.

You may be able to back order what you want with some sellers, but the wait may be long.

Or do both.

Or find a different size that will work you can live with.   There are a number of 130s (gold wings use 130s)

I've got a back tire on the front right now and I'm not real happy with it. It bounces alot in the curves. I was thinking about going with a real front tire this time and see how I like it.

I just had a set of shinko journeys mounted for my interstate. They look good and the shop told me he mounts a lot of them on goldwings. Put the back on and found I need to replace ujoint. Haven’t ridden on them yet but haven’t heard any complaints from the guys I know that have them.

shinko SE890 Journey rear is an o.k. tire last for me 9-10K miles which is all my former Avon cobra lasted me as well.   I went even cheaper and IMO just as good in the front with a Shinko 230 tourmaster no complaints there.
