Not in Richmond proper but in "Chester".
I had forgotten what is was like to live in a "Home Owners Association" controlled area. But, that is her choice.
Home Owners Associations are a two edged sword.
I don't like the idea of people telling me what I can do with my property. But I take excellent care of my property.
On the other hand, I never lived somewhere people would paint their house bright purple and shocking yellow, and you have neighbors who think never mowing their lawn (or doing any kind of work outside at all) is a natural look, or want to operate a fortune telling operation in their living room, or park 12 cars in their front yard (maybe 2 running).
If the ass'n rules and regs are not stupidly excessive (or enforced), they can be a blessing (esp if you like to keep your property value up).
For my first 17 years at this house, I had the police, code enforcement, health department, animal control and child protective services at my next door neighbor's house 30-40 times. And only after I asked nicely 30 times.
So there's that.
