Looking for trailer hitch options/choices. Just acquired a Camper to pull with my '97 R&W /Tourer. Who still makes/fabricates them to fit the Tourer models (with bags (no bag rails). I'd lean toward a "hidden hitch", but don't know what's best. Thanks for any ideas/direction you could send me in. Would also entertain the idea of buying a used one that is in great condition (non-peeling if chromed) Thanks in advance!

If you want to remove your rear tire, then you want the 3 piece one, unless you will remove it from underneath only.

I have always removed the wheel, dropped down from underneath while the bike is on a Snap-On table lift and use 2 scissor/platform lifts to lift the bike and raise/lower the swingarm/wheel. Have Hitchdoc hitch with removable socket ball with swivel.

You guys are great, offering pics of the hitch types you have, and the reasons why you chose what you have. This really helps the guy who has ridden for years, and years, but doesn't have a clue when it comes to buying his first hitch because he wants to go camping

Here's another one. I installed this swivel hitch some time ago but had to modify it for clearance after installing the bag rails. This swivel was available for a short time but the guy folded up. Haven't looked lately to see if it, or similar is back. It's better than the others I found - full 360° swivel, not a flip-flop, and compatible with my receiver hitchdoc. There are opinions on whether a swivel is needed. I ride twisties and w/o a swivel, had to slow down pulling my Tagalong trailer. Don't pull the Timeout camper that fast, it's much heavier. Some argue, if your trailer flips over, (has happened to some; hit a curb etc, look for pics) it won't flip your bike. More for me is not being limited on speed in the curves. And being able to use a std ball hitch so I can pull my trailers with a cage - and yes I do that. Some folks praise a Hyme joint hitch - can't use that on a cage. Also with multiple trailers, want the swivel on the bike not the tow bar. Also have a wing but don't tow with it. This is a convert-a-ball hitch; I also tow a trailer with a 2" ball. Pardon the dust, on a dirt road and cleaning is overdue.

That swivel hitch looks nice, and appears to be the answer to eliminate any riding habits (speeds in the curves, etc). I did order the 3 pc (same as Hitchdoc) from da Prez. Haven't installed it yet, as I just got back from a two week vacation to Maine. The camper/trailer I bought is an older Bel-Aire by USA VenturCraft. They used to be called Kwik Kamp, & it's in great shape! I want to say it's about 275lbs, so shouldn't be too much of an issue in hauling. However, as soon as I get the receiver installed, I'll take it over to a parking lot and spend some time with it. One of my riding buddies has one of those Heim joint hitches installed on this CTX 1300. I'll wait & see how this type works out for him
