Mounted this front tire over the weekend, finished the install and test rode it last evening. 140/80R-17 Dunlop Trailsmart Dual Sport Radial
Rear Tire
https://www.ebay.com/itm/372965086316Re-used the Airsoft beads for balance, feels smooth but has an audible hum at certain speeds. Could tell it's shorter than the 150/80-17 Shinko 920, which still had good tread at 9k miles. Won't run another Shinko. Meh.
Most of the morning ride was darkness, cool at 62 when I fueled up 5.9 gal at 0600. Seemed to be colder after the Harry Nice 301 Bridge. Arrived a little after 7. Departed at 1510, hit a good shower from before Leonardtown till past Clement. Didn't faze the new tire, though I thought about release agent 120 miles into the 155 mile round trip (way after the rain).
Felt a pretty good slip on the Caledon Road 218, but it could've been a tar snake, leaf who knows. Solid tire. I'll try to get a GPS read on how fast it is really going at 80 indicated, since the tire is narrower it's shorter. Might feel a little bit snappier entering turns, otherwise feels like "a new front tire".
Solid, grippy and it hums. $40 well spent.
