I'm sure you'll get exercise finishing that bathroom.   Smiley

I hear yah,  getting old sucks and sometimes cannot prevent it nor slow it down.

Wife wants to go for LONG walks but my left hip is not up to it, let alone LONGER cycle rides much over 100 miles per day.  Am afraid hip surgery sometime is in the somewhat near future but want to prolong as long as possible only age 51.   Xray diagnosis says it is NOT that bad, but I beg to differ.

I'm not much of a country music fan either, but I'd rather listen to it than re-hab a bathroom.

Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.

We talking total gut job here?

When you are working by yourself (I assume you are) remodels can turn into a daunting task. Hopefully your wife will reward you generously for all your efforts! Took me about two years to do a 2000 square foot remodel of the main floor working totally by myself with paint work by the wife. Now I’m faced with finishing the same amount of square footage in the basement. The wife wants a roof over the deck which will turn into a full blown sunroom, based on past experiences. Right now everything is too expensive to jump into any big projects so maybe a break for me in the offering.

I had to retire due to vision problems.  I just couldn't see going to work anymore.

but I think I heard a song once called “I ain’t the man I used to be”. That certainly seems true for me lately. Not that many months ago I was lifting anywhere from 6-10 thousand lbs. a day. A couple thousand lbs. of bathroom tear out has about kicked my ass. I don’t think I could go back to work, even if I wanted to. (I don’t) I think I’m going to have to consider some more exercise.  Smiley
Just begin with a leisurely daily walk (the distance and time does not matter) and reducing carbohydrate intake gradually. Easy does it means no injuries to feet, ankles, knees.  Good for the mind.  Motion, with just a little sweat on the brow is the beginning of weight loss and better physiology.  Best wishes, sir.cooldude

As long as the mind stays young, the body will follow (as best it can). My wife has a saying about men..."the 5 stages of a man's life are: Infant...Little Boy...Little Boy...Little Boy...Little Boy". I do my best to live up to her expectations of me Smiley
At 65, I still play soccer in a Masters league, so I regularly have some body part that aches a bit. The good thing is, I get to say that those aches are from playing soccer...which sounds a whole lot better than just acknowledging that I'm getting old(er)  cooldude

Oh, and I do like "real" country music (not that crap that's on the radio these days).
