So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: October 09, 2021, 03:24:29 AM »

I was need'n some chrome to fulfill my addiction and needed to go visit with Troutdude and was waiting on an opportunity to make that journey south.   This was necessary in that Dennis is my closest dealer of the highly sought after and addictive chromium...........  Wink

We talked about different times/dates when it would be convenient for both of us.  My craving due to this addiction was haunting me on a daily basis.  He had what I wanted/needed and was willing to make the no longer produced chromium available.   Evil  It was determined that yesterday would be the day because a mutual friend would be there also.   So, I set the plan in motion.   Let a few others from the general Hattiesburg area know about the opportunity, only one was available to make that short trip.  Less than a hundred miles.

So, anyway David (Warlock) and I made plans to meet at Sandy Hook, MS at 0645 and travel on south on two lane roads to Troutdude's home.   There we met up with Troutdude, DDT and Jeremy, Troutdude's neighbor and one other neighbor that I don't remember his name.   First, our small group went to breakfast at a local restaurant (Fat Spoon) where the waitresses were very accommodating and entertaining.  They actually came over to visit numerous times and the service was outstanding. They were able (when challenged) to accurately determine which bike/trike belonged to each individual.   That was fun.   Both of these young'ns were invited to go take a ride with us by one of the "dirty ole men" in the group but though both indicated it would be fun, they couldn't leave work like that.   The fact that they had their priorities straight in life made them even more fun.   Regardless, we all left solo like we expected to.   angel   We were just have'n some fun folks.

After breakfast, we returned to Troutdude's home where some parts were purchased and stories were told, tires were kicked and insults were passed back and forth with great enthusiasm.   Everyone was laughing and having a grand ole time.   Was a wonderful day.   David and I departed and returned home along the same two lane road until we split up, he went his way and I went mine.

One of the best times I've had since the last Valkyrie get together.   Just goes to prove, you meet the nicest folks on a Honda and the best on a Valkyrie.   These are folks I'm proud to call my friends.

Sorry, didn't think to get any pictures.   Some of us ain't all that pretty anyway  Wink but, it was good to see these friends again.   It's not just about the ride, for me, it's the camaraderie we share.

Rams    cheers

Nice post, can't ask for a better day than that. These old Valks sure have had and continue to have a knack of making lifelong friends out of their riders... don't even need pictures to prove that  Smiley

Sounds like a great day, I see only one problem; 6:45am? When I was younger(much) I used to say I only get up early to take part in one of the three "F's"!  Flying & fishing!  Smiley

And...fixing breakfast for the girls before school. I know what some of you were thinking, early morning bathroom and bad breath usually kills some activities. Wink

John,
All I can say is I've been an early riser my entire life.   Being reared on a farm/ranch, there was always chores to do before school.   Although, I do remember being suddenly awaken with a pitcher of ice cold water once...........    2funny

Yes, I did bring home some precious chromium home, no where near what some of my Valkyrie friends have on theirs but, I was missing something I've wanted for a while.   Actually, the red headed gal picked out each rider's bike perfectly.   Reference getting Dennis in trouble, not gonna happen from this group, we were just hav'n fun.  Wink

Hey Ron it was a good time and Bruce and myself had talked about that when y’all left the house about our valkyrie family
Everyone has that one neighbor and  that’s mine if you know what I mean lol Bruce said it best Paul is really impressed with him self   Sometimes we don’t get to choose our neighbors some are great ones and some not so good   I tolerate him because he is my neighbor and try hard to be civil with him because he gets on my nerves
It was great to see you and David and I really enjoyed our visit and y’all’s chrome shopping

David and I spoke last night, we had a great time and pretty much agree with Bruce on the neighbor.

Be safe and watch out for red heads.  Wink
