I have an inexpensive stainless steel bladed folding knife I've used to cut down those sticky mouse trap sheets. Before I took off for Il. last Friday I put the blade in the grease drippins can. The drippins were deep enough to cover the blade. Stirred the blade around a bit a time or 2 a day til tonight when I grabbed a straight back butter knife and was SURPRISED at how EASILY the sticky stuff that makes those board traps work scraped off the blade I had in the drippins. And what little that remained washed off with the Dawn wash water I washed my dishes in tonight. When I cook bacon sausage burgers or pork chops or chicken the excess grease goes in the drippins can. And THAT concoction is what I used to remove the sticky stuff! RIDE SAFE.

Or just use Ronsenol lighter fluid. Works great on sticker glue too

WD40 is my solvent of choice on most everything especially cleaning my wheels. When Kennedy tool box manufacturer recommended it to clean their wrinkle finish paint, I've experimented with it a lot over the years on different finishes/materials with excellent results.

I keep a couple old beat up cheep knives around for nasty work.

They don't get cleaned, just wiped off and the edges touched up once in a while.

Like this one. (in case field amputation becomes necessary)

When I still carried my Zippo from Navy days and beyond I had the Ronson lighter fluid around. I no longer smoke and Sadly the Zippo Is amongst the missing. But the grease drippins are going to be thrown away eventually and I stuck the knife in on a whim. I remember working at a garage with an outdoor 2 post lift and getting Really greasy under some of those old cars. Old John Secor showed me how to remove the heviest of the grease with clean engine oil. Figure I'd give it a shot and what the heck-It WORKED!  cooldude Sides Results are What Matters!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE. P S-anybody here besides me serve around aircraft and use 115/145 octane avgas in their Zippo?

I took the lawyer sticker off my 1800's gas tank and easily removed the residual
goo with boiled linseed oil. Oily stuff is great at attacking some kinds of
goo, but not all. Naptha nukes some kinds of goo but doesn't phase
some kinds of delicate lacquers... Alcohol works on some kinds of goo...
I feel lucky when I reach for the right kind of solvent the first time   Smiley ...
