OK while I had the rear tire off for a change I noticed the rear pads were ready also. Of course, They had to be ordered. So while waiting I had the tire mounted and reinstalled the rear wheel. When I go to put the new brake pads in place a spring falls out. I have searched and cannot find a decent picture that shows it on. So before I pull the rear wheel again so I can put the spring back in place with the caliper off. I thought I would ask if it is possible to get the spring in the correct position without removing the rear wheel. Any pics would be much appreciated.

Yea this is the spring. It doesn't show any where how it goes in, I have access to a Clymer manual it just basically tells me to put it back. It won't fit ant way I configure it. Kind of pissin me off. I usually don't have this problem with brakes I have done all my own for years. THe spring did not come with the pads, it just Fell out when I pulled the old pads out so I didn't see how it was in there.

If memory is my guide (dangerous) it sits at the front/rear of the bad and holds it in place. Same thing happened to me with my front brakes. Can only go in one way.

Yea I figured it went in the bed to put pressure on the pads. I'm not sure whoever did li last time didn't bend it or something because there are two ends of the housing and only two way each it could point and none of them work. Surly can't take it to the dealership they laughed when I told them how old it was.

Wow, thanks now I understand. The clip I hVe is flat so it is either bent or the wrong one. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions! Trying to get her ready to ride to Daytona but at this rate I take the F6.

If your spring is flat and a bit smaller it goes on the caliper plate. Would you like those pictures?

I have installed this spring without removing anything. Let me know if you need help. It can be done

Ok, thanks everyone. I got it after putting the spring back in shape. Took her for a ride, no dragging and the brakes worked well enough to skid the new dark side back tire.

Again thanks everyone, if any ever need help near Ocala or Daytona on the weekends give  me a shout my phone number and email are listed in my profile.
