Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: January 12, 2010, 05:48:55 PM »

Left Athens ,Alabama this morning made a run to Nashville,Tennessee and was then sent to Olive Branch,Missisippi with a Grove crane. On my way down I went through Michigan City ,Mississippi a little blink and you'll miss it town.I was rollin' along this ol' two-lane highway and I saw the headlight coming on fast we both hit this incline about the same time it was maybe a 4 mile straight when he hit the left lane he pulled the front wheel and rode it a good 3 to 4 miles....Awesome skill the bike looked to be a Suzuki GSXR 1000.I'm in Corinth,Mississippi now and if my boss don't change my plans tomorrow I plan to stop at Lake Hill Honda and check out the museum again the owner has in the dealership.Lake Hill claims to be the largest volume dealer of Honda motorcycles in the south .Below are some pictures I took the last time I went to Lake Hill Honda. Most of the bikes he has on display can be had if you've got the buck$.

That is what my bike looked like in '74, before I was born. By the time I bought it in 1999 (or so) the mufflers had been chopped on a slant, the rear wheel was a 16" HD rim laced to the Honda hub, the seat was a king-queen, and the handlebars were a little higher than stock. Man that bike was fun.

I made a lot of mistakes on that bike, had some fun, but eventually just couldn't keep it on the road anymore.

I still miss that bike. I hope that wherever she is today she's having fun.  I finally sold her to a VRCC member from South Carolina that was going to restore her. I hope she did him proud.

I'll have to keep that dealer/museum in mind if I get down that way. Looks like fun.

Some of the guys on here know Scott.  He has been to Inzane a couple of times, the last being VIII, I believe.  He is my cousin, and a wild kinda guy, if I do say so myself.  He has been that way ever since he left home.

Nothing wrong with wringing out them Black Interstates once in while. It was hard to tell the wheelie since the clutch is pulled in. He must have been coming down hill when you took the picture.
