Pander? Possibly. I wouldn't think there are sufficient DC Comic fans out there to make such a gamble but, I don't get out much so, who knows.............. Definition of 'pander'
If you pander to someone or to their wishes, you do everything that they want, often to get some advantage for yourself. He has offended the party's traditional base by pandering to the rich and the middle classes. I'm not a comic book fan anyway but, I do like most of the Marvel Comics movies. Never purchased a comic book in my life. Same can be said for Playboy and all those other magazines. I did have a subscription to Family Handyman for a while but let it run out. Rams |

Makes one wonder when the "woke" crowd will wake up. Maybe the "woke" term came from using the incorrect & illiterate term "woken"(as in woken up), thinking it made them appear unique rather than stupid. Hasn't worked so far!  I guess the DC folks think that Superman was so special he had to "come out of the phone booth" as opposed to "coming out of the closet."  |

TECHNICALLY it's not Superman, it's Superman's son....
I usually say "You want a gay/black/disabled/Muslim/whatever superhero fine, make a new one, quit changing existing ones" so in this case, purely on a technicality, at least they left Superman himself alone... I guess...

Interesting. I was wondering why these guys still read comic books ? I guess they don’t. I would imagine that guys of all ages may read them but a gay superhero is obviously targeting young readers to say that butt buggering and partaking of tube steak is mainstream and a lifestyle to be admired.I said it years ago and I still maintain that pedophilia will be forced on us as acceptable behavior. |

As someone who has been a comic fan off and on over the years, I still have to ask why does this seem to have to define people? Whether in comics, movies, or actual real life? I’ve never walked up to anyone an introduced myself as a heterosexual male nor have I forced or demanded my beliefs on anyone. Yet so many mediums are doing just that. Sadly none of this is essential to storyline or plot 99% of the time yet here we are…

You are correct, every new show this season that my wife and I have sampled, has to include the lgbtq couple or situation. And it only serves their community to reinforce that they are fully integrated and accepted by everyone.
