Today we’re R/R both wheels on a 750 Shadow shaft drive. The rear drive components are very similar to the Valkyrie except of course it’s on the left instead of the right. There are several models of shadows and apparently on this one you really need to remove the fender because there’s not enough sideways room to either remove the drum brake plate or to fully disengage the flange from the drive. Since we were that far I unbolted the drive and slid the whole mess back a bit so the brake plate would come off then the wheel could come off.

I don’t want to mess with the fender but either way I don’t see any alternative but to put the wheel on the drive before the drive shaft is to the ujoint. One thing that is good the Shadow wheel is lighter than the Valkyrie wheel. Not going to be fun to find the ujoint holding onto the whole smash!!!’

I installed a sissy bar/luggage rack, Mustang seat and floorboards on one of my friend's '09 750 C2 earlier in the year.

That was...entertaining. Makes you appreciate the GL1500C- series of motorcycles a whole bunch.

Well. That went good. While the guy was out getting her shoes on I studied this little Honda. The exhaust mount is a substantial piece and if you move the muffler out a hair the swing arm can lower down and rest on the mount. Then I raised the lift to the top and there was just enough space to scoop that wheel with the brake plate on it right up in place.  Easy Peasy when you know the secrets.
