All these years of working 5 half days a week? No more semi-retirement.
Not many of you know that both Lesa and I had Covid from a trip up to Wisconsin the first week of August. (Thanks John Schmidt!)
I got hit pretty hard with it even though I am/was in pretty good shape. It took a pretty good toll on me and made me re-think where I want to be. I still have side effects from it.
I have not been back to "work" since the last week of July.
Lesa and I have been talking about it and I walked in to the shop today and said no more 5 days a week for me. Told them I will help in a pinch and get them back on schedule when they absolutely need it but other than that..........I am done....finished....stick a fork in it!!

RETIRED !!!

Sorry about the bug catching y'all but good on the retirement.  I know you have heard this already but you wonder how you even had the time to work with all the projects that still need to be done every day.
Congrats

Very sorry to hear about the Covid problems, but very glad to hear that you are both on the mend. Congratulations on the retirement decision. Hope to see your smiling faces around, more often now.

Well, sorry you guys got the bug but you didn't get it from me, I'm still "bug free". It's probably punishment for not letting me know you're headed up this way so we could get together, even if it was from across the room.  Wink  My daughter and her entire family has had it, plus her older daughter near 30 years old and her hubby. Her son, 23, has had it twice as has his girlfriend. Old gramps here is still without the bug and hope to stay that way.

Re. retirement, good on you. You'll enjoy life even more...until you get that "to do" list from Lesa. Go for it there gal!  Grin

Happy retirement to you pappy.  Every day from now on will feel like a Friday, because your off the next day. I was scared about retirement, but as time goes on I’m enjoying it more and more and so will you. COVID is a nasty bug, a few of my friends have had to retire from the nasty side effects. I hope you both get back to normal soon and start enjoying a life you have worked hard for. Maybe see you guys in Tallahassee next month.
Retired since July 6th and never looked back.

Thank you to all of my Valkyrie family. Thanks for all the warm wishes.

98 Valk - I  think God did bless us. He spared Lesa from a potent case of it.

Thunderbolt - Got that right. We just sold the other house and only have 2 weeks to clear it out! What a start to retirement!

Sheffjs - Yes ma'm, yes sir! One way or another I plan on it.

Oldfrt - We plan on it but in reality it will probably be me you will see. We currently have 9 orphaned squirrels we are raising as well as our 4 dogs. Hard for both of us to do much of anything for any length of time!

John Schmidt - I know I know but it was your state we caught it in so there !! BTW - Lesa already has that list. She may have said "Well John said to do it" ..... not sure.

Sixlow - Thanks for the prayers. Am getting there. I rode the Kawasaki for the first time yesterday and it felt great to do it. We hope to see you guys as well and soon. Make it a close one so Lesa can join!

Steel Cowboy - Thanks for the words of wisdom on retirement! There may be a new "normal" for me but I am still seeing slow improvements week after week. Not sure on the Panhandle trip yet. We shall see.

TJ - When I  grow up I want to be just like you!! Keep those emails coming my friend!

Larue - Thank you thank you thank you! Looking forward to seeing you sooner than later!

flsix - We plan on it. I may have a question for you by the way. On one of our common interests.

Flrider - Feel sorry for Lesa? General Lesa? I will admit it is different being together all day. We have made it since the end of july so far and have not made the evening news yet so there is hope!
