Did a Texas Hill Country Run last weekend.   Beautifull riding roads there.  Really shined my 2001 Valkyrie Tourer up before I left.    Weather was perfect all weekend so the bike stayed shiny all weekend.   I was riding with my two Harley riding buddies and their bikes were looking good too.   Everywhere we stopped my Valkyrie drew attention.   Even had one Harley guy come over and ask me “What to heck is that?”   Most that came to look couldnt believe the bike is 20 yrs old.   I have tried to take good care of it and keep it clean.   Of course I had to show off a little and perform the “Nickle Demonstration”.   Most people just cant hardly believe it.   With 107,000 miles on it now Im just as proud of my Valkyrie as the day I bought it.    Been a great motorcycle.

Ya, I get the same. I love it when a current year Harley next to my 24 year old Valkyrie gets passed over. It does feel good.

Had a similar experience recently. I had just polished up the I/S trike and rode up to the local Harley boutique to get some new grips for the old bike. They have a "bike parking only" area so pulled in there and went inside. When I walked through the merchandise area to leave the older lady that worked there asked if that was my trike...I looked out and it was surrounded by quite a number of HD riders. She walked out with me, took one look at the leather work on the seats and backrests and said "now I know why they were all looking at it." It's fun to stand back and watch, saying you're proud somehow doesn't quite cover it.

Backrest detail.

John that's the first time I've seen the trike with the rest of the leather work done by your buddy. Saying it sure does look good is an understatement.
