I had the old standard GATT (Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread) on my previous Valkyrie. unknown size

I put the ATT (Auston Taxi Tire) on my 88' GW, and LOVED IT. discontinued 175/80-16

I've another ATT mounted on a rim waiting to put on my current bike.

Lots of info in the Tech section and suggestions on tires.

Since the ATT is no longer available, and Canada being different, I was going to get a snow tire from Canadian Tire, that has nice rounded edges, and try that out on my bike. Maybe $100 or so. I haven't decided on the tread pattern yet, and most likely wont for years from now.

I would look for a narrow and tall tire. I always like the lower rpm with a taller tire.

That’s what I like too. I’m looking at a 195/75/16. Just hoping it’s not too tall for the fender. I know of someone using that size but can’t get ahold of him to see if there are any issues.

This is the 2nd time I put this tire on, BF Goodrich g-Force Comp-2 in 205/55/16.
I absolutely love this tire.
Yes, the bike runs at higher rpms, but I take that for the handling and grip I get.

Had a Yokohama Avid Envigor before that in 205/60/16. Also a great tire, but got discontinued (if I remember correctly).

Let us know how it works out for you  cooldude

lowering the rear of the motorcycle increases the trail number, which actually reduces handling quickness.   larger trail number does provide more stable straight line at high speeds 80+mph, however lower speed handling suffers.

A 55 instead of a 60 car tire is like a quarter inch, right?  No more than a third.  And yes individual tread patterns and tires probably vary a millimeter or two.

I run a Comtrac 180/75 on my Standard.  Had to do nut cage mod and "adjust" the tail light wires but it is a great ride and lowers the rpm's a bit.

Now, I run the same size Zeetex CT1000 on my Shadow Tourer and much prefer it.  Just sayin'
