Won't start, may not be getting fuel.. How do I determine if gas is getting to the cylinders?

Had the carbs rebuilt a couple months ago, then it sat too long again - my bad. Now it won't start. New battery, on trickle charger as needed. Turns over fine. With full choke, try's to start but won't catch on for long. Have to really work the throttle to try and keep it going.

Each carb has a drain hose.
Drain one or all, I'd drain all.
If all drain, all had fuel old fuel. Add a BIG dose of Berryman B12 Chemtool.
Retry starting, repeatedly, waiting a few moments between tries.
Check if all drain again.
If not, suspect the fuel valve and the vacuum tube that opens it.

Ditch the OEM POS for a pingle. You will get all the fuel you can use. Cant out run it.

OEM petcock has a vacuum line that goes to it to that opens the petcock by vacuum.  For fuel to get to the carbs the petcock needs to be in run or reserve position and the engine needs to be cranking or running to allow fuel past the petcock.  You can force the petcock open by supplying a vacuum source to the petcock via a hand pump like a MityVac or by sucking on the end of the vacuum hose and closing the end with your tongue.  If you elect the second option you should feel the diaphragm in the petcock open and then your tongue will stay pulled to the hose - like you do with a straw and a big gulp soda.

If you decide to change petcocks to a manual one you can use the K&L one which allows you to use teh OEM petcock handle on it, the petcock comes in a manual or a vacuum-operated option.
