Halloween isn't inclusive

No it isn't.  Once you hit 40, you should stop dressing up and walking around for free candy.  crazy2

For what it's worth I am one who doesn't "celebrate" Halloween (the eve of all saints, all hallows, day).  I do enjoy handing out candy to children so I do that.

I don't see it as a necessary celebration at school.

Most of my family disagrees with me regarding the celebration.

I don't celebrate it anymore either.

Truthfully, most of my neighborhood has stopped for some years now; only a very few houses participate (decorated and lit up).

Some years ago, on the same night, first I had a biracial group of 16yo boys (or older) dressed as gang banger thugs carrying baseball bats, doing their best to be smart ass intimidating.  Yo dude, give us our candy!!  I threw them off my porch with no candy.  (When in HS, we discovered there were a few older (rotten) kids stealing little one's candy and shoving objectors down in a mud puddle (including my little brother).  We went out and found them and delivered some street justice.)

Sometime later, I had two girls, maybe 11, dressed up as trollops, with trashy clothing and makeup, and appearing 9 months pregnant.  They were going for shock value, and I was shocked.  I asked if their parents knew what they were wearing, and they said one of their mothers helped them dress and make up.  I gave them candy, then shut the lights off.  And have never played again.

I do miss the very little kids (with parents), but I'm done (and my usual lights on all sides of my house are off).

I say humbug.  If I had kids, I don't think I'd let them do it anymore, and I think most (local) parents see it the same way.  We have a very safe neighborhood, but...

1st time ever not handing out candy since here in small town since 1993.   Last year really ticked me off due to Covid our hicktown had a LEAVE candy bucket on front step so kids can not be near anyone to prevent covid spread.

Well,  my 100 mini candy bars that last 3-4 hours ONLY lasted 1 hour due to some older kids grabbing handfuls and little 2 year olds with parents not saying a darn thing about ONLY taking 1 and putting the rest back.

I caught 3 older kids grabbing handful going for 2 more handfuls caught them dipping in again and grabbed the one kid who was worse bucket of candy and dumped a few back in my bucket and told them they should be ashamed of themselves and LEAVE NOW.  They whimpered away like they got caught robbing a bank darn near crying.  I should have dumped that one kids whole bucket into my bucket of candy and ask him how he feels now, but I was not that mean... tickedoff

Pretty much everything around here has gone to "Trunk or Treats" instead of traditional Trick or Treating.

Our church did one yesterday  and over 800 kids came through.

My 6yr old grand daughter had a blast handing out candy to other kids:

My neighborhood does it up pretty well...

Triplets before they headed out, while I was first firing up the smoke machines...

And this house is about a block from us... They REALLY do it up big time!
