Ok - to get this thing to work..... Cool
You need a hacksaw and a file...

Here's the stock license mount bracket...
You need to lose the stock reflectors.....
Then its hacksaw time.... This is my first attempt. But I didnt like it, thought there was too much possible flex with the plate. So with another bracket, I just left the bottom "tang" in the center on the bracket. --- Photo shows it cut off... dont do that...

It takes a bit of eyeballing to center the OEM bracket into the curved holder. Also, a little bit of trial and error to bend the OEM bracket a bit to get it to fit good into the chrome holder.  Since the OEM bracket already has the bends in it , I just bend it some more from there.  - Just do a little at a time. Getting it even was lots of fun!  Shocked

I put a small bend in the center tang so it contacts the plate, there's a little rubber stopper that now rests on the back of the plate and keeps the flex down. -(not shown in the photo.)

The stock bracket then mounts as normal to the OEM location. You do not use the black piece from the Chrome kit...

Then mount as normal... I had red bolts for this, but the DK one comes with chrome bolts...

Hope this helps!

I used the straight one from custom dynamics with the built in turn signals. I removed the turn signals and trimmed the bracket and mounted it back into the original holes. Threw away the ugly turn signals

Agree the stock signals are ugly....I was tempted to customize to a Harley street glide set, but that's a whole 'nother level of screwing around.  I'm burnt out on all the work I've done for now.....

The first owner of my 97 standard took the the stock blinker/brake light/plate bracket off and put one of those curved license plate covers on the rear fender, he mounted a custom brake/tail light and blinkers under the grab rail.

I also used the flat one but with brake light. Turned my trunk lights to running, brake and turn. Put flasher unit on tag brake light. Had to make a custom bracket, used plastic wood and shaped to fit fender, hollowed out for wire connections.
Planning on trying the curved one on the tourer.

I put Kuryakyn deep-dish bezels on my first Tourer's rear signals in 2006, having gotten them as a Christmas present from my late mother. Those snowballed into an expen$ive conversion project, as the fronts had to match.

At the end: A National Cycle light bar was fitted along with a set of Kuryakyn signals, bevels...and the passing lamps themselves have H-D accessory deep-dish bezels installed. Naturally, the NC bar won't work with the stock Honda windshield so this snowballed into a Bat Wing... Shocked

Exactly why I won't get going on a project like this. If you're going to change the back you need to do the whole back. Then the front looks outdated. $1,000 later you have an updated 20 year old bike(give or take).

You got that right, $1000 if you are lucky.......one thing leads to another and another and another and another.......... even with everything I've done, .........Chrome wheels, brake calipers, rear brake plate....powder coat front calipers brackets and Shadow risers, pay for some of the polishing work, bazillion new parts everywhere, new fork springs,  Chrome desmog kit, custom radiator grill, radiator hose dress up clamps,, pay the painter guy for for center cover and side cover flame job, LED headlight, Spiegler brake lines fr/rr, new pads, new GW rotors, boat load of new fasteners, new tires, new battery - throw in a number for all my OCD labor......   and.....I  could do more.......

I'm guessing I have spent around $3500 to $4000 on the thing.....got to a point where I had to stop and save some beer money.... Cool

My bike came with a bunch of bling and I'm not going to start changing the lights.  Changed computers so I don't have a pic of my bike or at least I don't think I do.

Any ways I have been told by members here I have parts that don't exist any more, I have a blue flame tank and lots of extra chrome. Thank you PO. .
