Nice shot. I took a ride up to The Brass Horse in Barkhamstead, CT today. Saw TWO bikes the entire 2 hour ride and none at the cafe. I bought my '98 Valkyrie last week and this was my first ride beyond a mile or so getting it sorted. Fantastic bike.

SgnDen,
Looks like your 1st post, Welcome. Congrats on the new bike, many of us here have ridden Valkerys in the past, some still do, many have moved on to other bikes. I think most here still have a special place in their hearts for a great motorcycle. I think it was one of the greatest cult bikes ever. It's respisble for bringing many of us together and we are still friends 20 plus years later.
Tell us about you bike and yourself. Once in a while we still do a couple of rides together not like the old days but occasionally.

Thanks for the welcome, GaryC. Yeah, these are great bikes. I look forward to learning sources and help for fixes/mods though I'm planning on keeping it mostly stock (final last words).
I've owned many bikes over the years from metric touring bikes to Triumph and multiple Harley baggers. Currently, I've got a 2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure and just picked-up the Valkyrie to have something a bit at the other end of the spectrum from the BMW beast. I was disappointed how jammed-up I felt on this bike today. It's got an Ultimate seat set-up and Cobra footboards (these will be the first thing to go). I suspect the previous owner was a LOT smaller than me. I need to increase the reach and legroom as I mentioned above. Rotating the handlebars will help a little with reach but I may need to swap the seat...hope not as it is very very comfortable.
I run a manufacturing business in central CT and while I spend 80% of my time here for now, my home is really Colorado where I have my house. Here in CT, I just grabbed an apartment with parking garage so I reallllllly miss my garage and shop. Any work I do is limited to what I want to deal with in a parking garage...not exactly ideal. Ha.
Happy to be here. -Steve

That makes sense, i definitely need more room. I guess I'll try to sell that seat and get something that puts me back quite a bit more and hopefully up a little as well. I'm 6'1" 270 so, yeah...
I'll use the search function and see what seat might be recommended for a lug my size.
Thanks!

Thanks, RonBou! Glad to see there are people up here in New England active on this forum. I don't know anyone here though it hasn't mattered much since I work far too much.

Welcome to New England! I can't tell from the picture if the bike has highway pegs. If not you could add highway pegs to the engine crash bars to stretch out a bit.

Thanks Tony...yeah, I'll do that at some point. It's got some aftermarket highway lights low on the engine guard currently. I'll be relocating those, adding a light bar and install some highway pegs when the weather warms-up.

Wow welcome aboard, that valk looks low miles,I do see aftermarket Trans covers. How many miles on it.
It has 22,000 miles and not a spot of rust or oxidation. The PO put a bunch of chrome covers on it. I tried to fond some chrome for the ignition switch area (not the switch itself as it's already chrome) as well as the area behind the fuel petcock. There again, the petcock is chrome but the frame/brace to which it's connected is black. I've seen some with chrome covers but wasn't able to find anything on Show Chrome etc. This is the video the PO made of it before I bought it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnuDWYoG-Jg

Carolina Bike and Trike makes some very nice chrome ignition/petcock covers (plain, not the ball milled Honda aftermarket which can only be found used now). Their site is down for now, but should be back up soon. It's a small operation. It's also a good place to order bulk Orings for future rear end lube and cleans (with three Orings changed). https://carolinabikeandtrike.com/
