WOW !!! Several , no not several, many years ago one on my son`s friends had a 440 , yellow and black Cuda. One night at the house he asked me to take a drive in it and tell him what I thought about the power. I took off down the road / street, turned around and "nailed it". Almost took out all the cars on both sides of the street. That was enought for me. Embarrassed Told Mark that his car ran great.  Wink I think I almost bought a lot of cars that night. Embarrassed

In 1972 (I remember cause I had just gotten my 1972 Yamaha 100 LT2), the kid I rode with, his brother had
a purple one of those... Barracuda - Hemi... I was just a kid. I thought it was normal for purple cars
to be fishtailing through the neighborhood.

My brother was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station back in 70.  He called home (Grand Rapids, MI) and said he had a weekend pass and wanted someone to come and pick him up.  It was around 9:00 pm.  A friend of the family was there at the time and owned a Hemi Challenger.  My friend and I decided we were going to go and get him.  The trip there (over 200 miles) took less than 2 1/2 hours.  We stopped at a truck stop in Michigan City and ran into a guy with a 454 Chevy.  The guy wanted to race us, so we went up on the interstate.

When my friend hit it, I thought my skin was gonna peel off my face.  I sat and watched the front end of that Chevy get smaller and smaller in the mirror.  I will never forget it!

By many accounts... the new dodge SRT-8 cars are faster than the vintage Hemi and 440 cars.  Although it has a lot to do with being able to put the 425+ HP on the street.

I had a 73 Cuda, all black, 340.  Loved that car but sold it to help pay for the my wedding.  Wish I would have been able to keep it.  Oh well.

I had an all black 72, but with a 318. Not zackly a race car but loads
of fun to drive! It just needed more attention than I could give it.
