Took advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures today and took a ride. December is shaping up to be a busy month, so this could potentially be the last ride of the year for me. We'll see.

Was on the road by about 10:30 and headed to the Sunshine Cafe in Clinton, MA for lunch. They do a great Irish Benedict with hash instead of Canadian Bacon. Home fries are on the side. That's my usual and got it today with an ice coffee. Excellent!

Next was a stop in Sterling center so I could snap some pictures and send to Gary to bust his chops that he was at work. He really enjoyed them.   Evil  One of the pics is below.

From Sterling I took Route 62 west to Barre and then 32 north to Petersham Center. Picked up a jar of honey at the Country Store and then strolled around the Common to just enjoy the beauty of the day.

From the Center, I took East Street through a bucolic landscape of farms and hills where you would swear you're in VT. There's a lot of hidden gem roads in Central MA just waiting to be discovered. East Street turns into Pleasant Street in Barre and brings you back to Barre Center. This is a great alternative route instead of taking 122 back to Barre. Much prettier, but the road is not 122, meaning you can't really ride it safely at 50+ mph. Although I'm sure Rich could.   Wink I just putted along and enjoyed the scenery.

From Barre, back to Princeton Center on 62, where I turned left on to Mountain Road to ride past Wachusett. It was too hazy to see Boston from Mountain Road, but on a clear day, you can see it if you pull over at an open space. From the Mountain, I took 140 south to head home.

A great ride of 130 miles on a beautiful mid-November day!   Cool

Was a gorgeous day.  I keep a camp chair in my office (always) and spent 15 minutes out in the parking lot today soaking up some needed sunshine and warmth

I rode the V Strom to work today. A bit cool, dark, and damp when I left for work at 5:15, but the ride home was very nice!

I also had a nice ride yesterday.  Rode to the VA hospital in Jamaica Plain for a colonoscopy.  Tons of fun.  Parked in the motorcycle only section of the garage next to another Can Am Spyder and a Harley trike.  Looks like us old vets are switching to 3 wheels.

Very true!

I'm lucky that area is my work grounds and I get to drive around enjoying the landscape and views.

And on really lucky days, I get to do it on a Valkyrie.

Wow Tom! Surprised you rode your Spyder to the colonoscopy. I've had 2 myself and usually you're woozy after the procedure.  Huh?

Thanks Hook! My brother lives in Spencer and he tells me that I should move to Central MA because I do most of my riding there. I tell him I can just ride to Central MA and spend more time on the bike.  cooldude

I cover NewBriantree, Hardwick, Petersham & Barre.

Out of the 4, I like Barre the best.

Small town, but big enough you never have to leave if you don't want to.

Close enough to The Quabbin, The Berkshires, Vermont & New Hampshire for awesome riding.

I agree about Barre. Very beautiful but enough civilization so that you have conveniences close by to make life a little easier.   cooldude
