Now sporting a "real" trunk!  Maybe I'll consider one of these -- when I can afford a used one in a decade or so!   Wink

So..... When is the primo year for a used Wing? Latest good stuff, without the introduction of bad stuff?

...just out of curiosity, of course...

Maybe in 15 years I will want one being under 12K but not until then and by then I will be too old to get one and either dead or retired.

Assuming that 3fan will ever get the opportunity to get up here to take Stan's red and carbon fiber interstate off my hands, I will someday be looking for another used bike,

I have looked at 12 yr old wings and f6b's and many others including the Indians and Connies and 4 cyl bikes

Unless I hit the lottery however, a new wing is not happening, more likely a smaller displacement bike I can flog when the police bike finally starts to show its age   At 82000 miles I sure hope that will not be any time soon as it is fun to ride in the city and on the parkways

I’ll probably get a $30k Goldwing about the the same time as I take possession of my $80k pickup truck.

I’ll probably get a $30k Goldwing about the the same time as I take possession of my $80k pickup truck.

I hear yah on that for sure,  some pickups are approaching 80K for only a 1/2 ton pickup.  My 2021 tundra maybe the LAST NEW truck I will EVER buy again 1st one ever spending OVER 40K new.  I never thought ever a new vehicle would be over 40K EVER, well the time has come already.  NOW,  the all new 2022 tundra all techy gadgets inside/out apples to apples is a 4K price increase 2021 vs. 2022 and the higher end leather seats platinum/limited/trd pro  trims are approaching apples to apples comparison 2021 vs. 2022 all new msrp jump of 8-9K price increase.   The new 2022 tundra msrp is now in line with the big 3 1/2 ton trucks vs. the cheapest apples to apples options.

What is going to be very bad for Toyota is once the truck market falls off some with possible gas prices being say 3.50 per gallon on up to over 4 bucks in some areas or more,  SUV/truck sales might slow down enough to get surplus on the lots again (assuming chip shortage goes away and increased production goes up).  Then,  the Big 3 always discount heavily 7-10K off full msrp but Toyota has NEVER EVER done over 4K I believe off discounts/rebates on a new tundra since I have been following since 2007.   I doubt too many loyal tundra followers then would be willing to spend 6K more for a tundra over a f150, silverado, Ram,  apples to apples options when in all prior years the tundra was by far the cheapest to buy apples to apples comparison.  My 2017 tundra was 38K to buy out the door now the 2021 tundra was 43K to buy and that simply is near too much to spend on ANY new vehicle.  Just wait,  the all new 2022 tundra same pkg. will be 48K to buy.

I see just 3 techy options on all new 2022 tundra being a 14 inch display screen costs 1200 upgrade,  the 'tech' pkg. is 3600 and now the overpriced TRD off road package is 4200 bucks.  That is 9 grand I would NEVER spend extra.  What is bad is some 'engineer' at toyota seemed it NOT needed to add 2 front tow hooks to ANY 2022 tundra not even the TRD PRO or TRD off road pkg. even.  Big mistake,  although I have only towed people out of ditches 2x's in my life with my former tundras,  front tow hooks are essential for serious off roaders.  But hey,  we can get a 14 inch MASSIVE touch screen and surround 360 degree cameras all over with auto steering backup system for those who do not know how to backup trailers manually.  Roll Eyes

Don't know anything about it except that it starts at $21500, which makes it about the most inexpensive new truck you can get.

Gotta admit that raises my eyebrows a bit.  Time for some research.

They say room for 5, did you see the rear room. You would have to be cut off at the knees to sit there. Total waste of metal for me. As for the tundra I am on my 4th. First a 2011 the best, 19 mpg at 80, the cruise just creeped slowly up when it needed too, no rpm jump. Needed a 4x4, big mistake getting rid of it. Wing looks nice but not for me.

If you are getting 19 avg mpg at 80 mph it must be 2wd for sure in a tundra 5.7L V8.  ONLY way in my 4wd tundra I can get 19 avg mpg if I drive 55 mph at most level hwy. long distances and that never happens where I live.

I do wish the Ford Maverick could be a 6 foot bed, preferred 6.5' bed length, since anything much under 6 foot bed is too small for me.  It also needs to tow 6000lbs. max in reality 5000 lbs. but tad bit more just to be safe.  I do like the concept though for those who do not need to tow 5000lbs. and under a 6 ft. bed length for the price paid.

Just wish the Honda Ridgeline could tow a tad bit more with their V6 since would be ideal with a much longer 6 or 6.5' bed length, although those new are still pushing 40K as well and used ones do not come cheap either.

Why cannot a mfg. build a beefy 4 or moderate 6 cylinder engine that gets 22-24 hwy avg mpg  with a 6.5 ft bed that seats 5 people comfy tows 6000lbs. (or spec'd for sure at 5000lbs.) under 30 grand anymore?  NONE out there at all.

Yes a two wheel drive. It was set up different I thought. When I traded it the guy that did the hauling of the dealer trade vehicles liked it and had the dealership keep it for him. He told me that the cruise was set up different at the factory. Must have been a test truck that they missed for the final rpm settings. He said all the tundra's should have settings like that one.

A little off topic but my brother in law has a yellow 2001 goldwing with a little over 8,000 miles on it.   Original miles 1 owner never kept outside.   He bought it in 2001 to take a trip with me to colorado.   I can vouch fir the mileage.   The guy is a workaholic and never got to ride much.   I think he would be very  receptive to a decent offer.   If interested pm me

As I'm mostly driving alone or with only one passenger, that's not the issue.  The small bed is a negative.  They make an AWD model.  The price is sure in my ballpark, if I were to buy my first ever new vehicle.  We deal with what we've got, and if I could afford a Tundra I'd probably have one.

I'd like to see more manufacturers producing (gasoline powered) trucks for the sticker shocked like me.

The larger trunk is standard on the 2021 models as well.

I'm still planning on coming up this weekend.

I am watching the weather though.

I don't exactly want to be trailering a bike in a blizzard.
