It was my plan to stop at the overlook on The Dragon to spread the last of my friend T-Bird ashes on the way home from the Fall Color Ride in October . I had 5 others with me and it was packed that Sunday morning nowhere to park. I told myself I'll get a decent day to ride up and do this well today was the day. Only ones there was me a T-Bird he was with me the day we spread our friend Paul ( Thumpers ) ashes here . I still remember him saying " Here's his best view Joe " . So today Terry got that same view didn't see it until I got home but the picture shows he was marking the spot.

Poor old Tree Of Shame is hanging full of crashed motorcycle parts. Don't know how much more it can take before it breaks  Shocked

Apparently you need a sticker to stop here . I didn't have a sticker but stopped anyway.

If you want to own The Dragon like you rented it for a day go now. No traffic whatsoever this morning. I did see a THP with a car pulled over down by the lake on the way back through. Deals Gap store is closed however The Tail Of The Dragon / Killboy store was opened today.

T-Bird had some good friends.  You are one of them

Thanks for letting us know the job is done. RIP T-Bird and Thumper

You're a good man, Joe.   You did an honorable thing to  complete a friend's  last wish.

That photo of the  view with the beam of light running through is beautiful.

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing my friend,

My first trip down the dragon sometime in 2009-2010 was with T-bird. For a flatlander from Illinois (at the time) pucker factor was at max trying to keep up with him... White knuckled many of turns...

Dude was a hoot and hell of a rider.

Great job Joe!  cooldude

Every time that I have been across the Dragon since the day that we spread Thumper's ashes.

I've stopped at the overlook to say HI or at least waved as I passed by.

I think it's very fitting that T-Bird and Thumper are now riding the Dragon together.

That is a very good thing you did for your friend. I have a friend that did something like for another friend of his. He spread his ashes in different places from the Smokes to Pikes Peak, put over 4000mi. on his bike doing it. It takes a very special person like you and my friend to do something like this.
