A friend of mine is driving from Dubai to the Netherlands (5000 miles) with a STD 97 and is looking for a windscreen. I recommended the OEM screen since they are the best; hard to come by however, even new and very pricy too. Does somebody have a windscreen for sale?

The OEM windsheids have been known to delamniate and are expensive to boot.
If your friend just needs the plastic shield,...I'd recommenf a "Clearview" or a "Cee Baileys".

You can also get the Clearview with a Goldwing style vent.

Clearview doesn't include the mounting hardware.  You would have to source that somewhere else.

Take care,  the OE shield replacements from these outfits still require the OE hardware.

The Clearview is a great product, but you do not get hardware, just the shield.

If your buddy is in a pinch, he could get something (several choices) from Memphis Shades (plastic and hardware) for a much better price, but quality and coverage is inferior to OE. Memphis Shades shields are sold by many, many dealers of bike parts.  Dennis Kirk, for one.

And Memphis now has a batwing fairing shield for Valk (but get the tallest shield for it).

To reiterate the previously stated; you need the OEM mounting hardware for the Clearview to work.

If you're friend is in Europe, try http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/section/screens/custom_cruiser/intro.html
I recently got the Mk 8 for my Valk standard.
Surrounds the headlight, mounts under the headlight and has two brace bars that come back to the handlebars that does afford it a little tilt adjustment.
It's as close to the OEM size that I could find, and a lot cheaper too.
Oh, and it works brilliantly.
