That IS a phone # that my phone identified as originating from Sweden. BUT here's the kicker. The voice mail that came from that call informed me of DIRE CONSEQUENCES should I not call the I R S back at the number that called me!  The U S of A I R S wants me to call them in Sweden!!  What's next? Pizza hut delivery from russia? RIDE SAFE. |

Hey over the last couple of years, I have gotten three calls from a rather mature nice sounding lady that this was the last chance to take care of a legal problem by calling a number. The number she called from was from a local spoofed number. Then there was several notices that some one was messing with my SS#, and needed to call their number immediately. Then there is the Amazon calls saying someone is buying on our account. Have never got a over seas call telling me about a problem over here. That is a new one. Did you call |

I don't answer the phone if I don't know the caller. No caller ID, no answer. And I fought to have voice mail turned off. Why would you want to do that?  Not that most scammers and sellers leave messages anyway. |

Yup, the phone spoofers are a different breed...using someone else's # to pull it off. A couple years ago I called myself about my pending IRS action which I thought was rather unique; me..calling me..about my problem with the IRS. Just for kicks, I answered and had a little fun with the dumb broad on the other end. She got pissed and hung up. |

A few months ago I got a call from myself, of course I had to answer because I might have something important to say to myself. It was a computerized voice from
Amazon fraud protection services.

Not that most scammers and sellers leave messages anyway. I do at least that - my rules on answering phone calls 0. ANything identified as political - do not answer 1. Anything from NC - do not answer (they can leave a message if legit) - add to block list 2. anything that says private / not available - same as rule 1 3. If the number is in my online phonebook (caller ID identifies it) - I will answer 4. 913 / 816 / 620 and 785 area codes - will generally get answered - if it has a correct name 5 Anything else - If I'm not expecting it - do not answer, if I am expecting this call I will answer. COntact me via SMS or email first and I probably will answer There are some exceptions that can be made - somebody calling from an NC number contacts me beforehand will get answered. But about 99% of the calls I get from NC are for car repair warrantys. |

No brag but my Personal directory has a bit over 100 #s in it. I ALWAYS look to see Who is callin. You no in my directory I no answer you leave no voice mail I no call back you leave a scam voice mail I IGNORE COMPLETELY. Gotten a couple incoming calls and all it sez is something to the effect calling # blocked!  Was talking with my neighbor Ed about this a bit ago and my Qustion is-how many Good Honest Folks with a bit of age fall fer this chit? As a Guess-far Too MANY. I also recall what Dad mentioned more than once-a fool and his money are soon parted. Thinkin/hopin/PRAYIN that I Do NOT fall into that fool catergory! RIDE SAFE. |

what can be done though since I have been getting cell phone calls same 1-866 number about helping me out with my back taxes. I have called that number back and NO answer at all. I know is a scam and even got a few other ones as well lately. What is going on? Really annoys me them calling me up and some even leaving a voice message.
I just got a new cell phone and somehow on my old cell phone never got TEXT messages before and now I am with new samsung phone, same cell phone number transferred over. I do not open the link on the TEXT message since the 3-4 I have gotten is sexual of some nature.
