Labeled the most honest three minutes in television history. When I think back over my life's experience, it may well be.

Thanks for posting.  I think many feel this way.  The greatest generation is checking out.  I see few filling their shoes.

American values are subject to democracy.  Individuals have learned how to vote for "stuff" for themselves.  Democracies teeter, and fall.  And the money machine keeps on printing...

Time will tell...

I hope viewers keep it running through the rather long pause at the end of his rant. It is then that he makes a rather calm but sharp contrast to the past.

Very interesting and, unfortunately, spot on.  Thanks for sharing.

gee, and here I thought I had a potty mouth saying the F word too often?

Is true though.  Another good movie to watch, although long winded and drawn out, is on Netflix called MUDBOUND set in WWII era about a black family living amongst/working for a white family along with the prejudice KKK clan.  If bored, skip to the last 40 minutes or so pretty strange ending for sure.

Why can't we all just get along?   Angry

From the video: "... Sure it used to be. We stood up for what was right. We fought for moral reasons. We passed laws for moral reasons. We waged wars on poverty, not on poor people....  We built great big things, made ungodly technological advances, explored the universe, cured diseases. We cultivated the world's greatest artists *and* the world's greatest economy... We didn't identified ourselves for who we voted for in the last election.".

That is the America that I love and that I fight for.

Did you watch it past the long pause following his loud vocalization? At the end he was more philosophic and was simply making a comparison...a rather realsitic one at that. He was looking at what it used to be like in yesteryear compared to today. With all its faults, ignorant professors & politicians, and the "me-first" society...I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but the good old USA and I'm quite certain that applies to the actor that was playing the part.  Smiley

John I will confess I did not, I have seen to many of these actors put down the U. S. and say they are going to move out of this country it they do not get their way, but they never do. I have got to the point I just do not listen to the anymore. I will go back and watch it now. Thanks for the letting me know about it.

I think you'll realize he was acting, not expressing personal opinion...which is entirely possible. The last portion more or less brings it all together. cooldude

I was reading thought he comments (of which there are lots) and found this one.

"I remember back when America was the greatest country on earth.  I can remember when Democrats and Republicans can disagree and then go to lunch together.  Those people were my father and mother my grandparents and their parents and all of their friends. The media has so deeply divided this country it makes me cry sometimes."
