am hoping pics will come from Florida on his rides, maybe even some BEACH HOTTIE sightings hitting the beaches even down there?   Something to lift up the dull gray COLD skies for all of us up here in the north this time of year.... cooldude

It's was a outstanding motorcycle trip 10 days on the road. I had near 2,800 miles when I rolled in yesterday. Could not ask for better folks to ride with and a added bonus visiting my friend William Wells who I grew up with and has lived in Florida for decades and riding with him as well. Left Tuesday morning seemed to get colder with every mile northbound. We never touched a super slab the entire trip and never got a drop of rain. They claim snow and ice here today with lows tonight near single digit  Cry   . We was at The Southernmost Point of the Continental U.S.A. on News Years Eve later that night these lowlife waterheads set it on fire.

If you get the opportunity to experience fantasy fest in in Key West, do it. One disclaimer however, if one is threatened by the alternative lifestyle, it may be overpowering. When I lived in southern FL we had a (now) very politically incorrect name for Key West. Another trip while in Key West would be Ft Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas. Plane, boat or helicopter is the only access though. I always saw it when fishing the Dry Tortugas on charter trips. Three days of deep sea fishing while keeping an eye open for Cuban trawlers that were always accompanied by a Cuban gun boat. The Castro regime thinks the Dry Tortugas fishing grounds belong to them with their proclaimed 100 mile territorial waters.

Ft. Johnson and the Dry Tortugas is like Fort Sumter, only
it never got blown to smithereens...

It is "dry" because there's no drinkable water there. The ocean
is the bluest blue I ever saw and clear too... I swam out in the
surf some and it is so cool to be under water there with your
eyes open.

Johnson is a lot like the fort at Savannah we rode out to, only
you have to take a two hour boat ride to get there...

Back in the 70's when I lived in Key West, we used to say that Halloween on Duval Street was redundant.  I used to maintain a 185 on floats there that used to haul tourists out to the Dry Tortugas.  Whenever there were empty seats they would give us a call and me and my wife would make the trip.  Back when it was built, Ft Jefferson was the largest masonry structure in the western hemisphere.  Unfortunately, it was completed with smooth bore cannons right about the time that ships went to rifled cannon with a much greater range, making the fort pretty much obsolete on completion.  The yankees ended up using it as a prison after the civil war and that's where they kept Dr Mudd following Lincoln's assassination.  Found a few pics from one of our trips, plus one of my dad's (he was in an Vigilante - RA5C outfit at the time).
