Trying to figure out what we call this part, and a part number if anyone has one. The cover chrome shield that fits betwee the carb caps and covers the throttle / choke cable adjustments. obviously I need a pair in good shape, but need to know what we callmthem in order to mount a search

Try a metal polish and a wax coating. It might work.

Are there any chrome carb caps available? I scratched up mine when I did a carb rebuild last year. I thought about trying some polish, but they are deep scratches.

I'd try restore them or sandblast them and color key them to your main color as they are $150. I've done this to my radiator grill by matching the pinstripe color and I have clear red spark wire's. Very subtle w/o being gaudy.
