beating the AL Crimson Tide.

First national championship since Hershel Walker in 1980 (40 yrs).

GA's QB Stetson (the Mailman), a walk-on who started out on the scout team vrs the Heisman Trophy winning Bryce Young.  But GA's 140 rushing (and 79yd int for TD) to AL's 30 was the bigger game decider than the passing game.

Both teams played tremendous defense, the first touchdown of the game came with 1:20 left in the third quarter, and it could have gone either way.  GA got the breaks and a few more big plays.

Nick Saban, was denied his eight national title, seventh with Alabama in the last 13 years. GA's Kirby Smart, a Bulldogs defensive back in the mid-90s, returned to his alma mater in 2016 after helping Saban build a dynasty as an assistant at Alabama.

Pretty much ended as I predicted, an SEC team won.   Didn't really care which one. Wink
Although admittedly I was kind of pulling for GA, just cause AL has been there so many times.   Not suggesting AL didn't deserve those wins.   No doubt in my mind which conference is the best in some sports.   SEC has ruled for quite some time and there doesn't appear to be much changing any time soon but, it will happen eventually.

Me too.      But I often pull for underdogs.

Didn't have a dog in this hunt. Only had time to watch 1st half. (4 am comes early)

But I thought the game was a wreck. Not the teams, but the game and how it was marketed for every plug nickel it had.

Every change of possession, 7 commercials with a 30 sec lead back into the game.
There were lead ins where they showed the teams just standing around on the field waiting for the end of the commercial break!

For every change of possession!

It just ruins the game, ruins the teams, and makes a mockery of it all.

NCAA wants to keep doing this? PAY THE PLAYERS. It ain't a game. It is a show.

Commercials should only be at the natural breaks of a game. Pregame, end of quarter, end of a half, and end of game with allowing 30 sec commercials for things like change of possession.

The game and it's integrity, be it any collegiate sport/game should never be sacrificed for the buck.
That undermines everything.

I agree with the commercials and breaks slowing and affecting the teams and the game.

It must suck to sit in the stands with 20 4-minute stoppages too.

My "fed up with it" though.... is all commercials everywhere in TV, print, media, computer.  It's a constant assault on your consciousness.

When I watch TV my remote is on my belly to mute every second that is not the game, movie, show.  I've heard of DVRs but lack the skills or patience to operate one.  I still have a VCR, but have forgotten how to use it.   Grin
