Does it matter when the Super Bowl is played, Saturday or Sunday? Probably not for most fans but, when would you prefer it? I personally like a Saturday evening game but, I'll watch (most likely) regardless. I'm a Chiefs fan BTW. Petition to move Super Bowl to Saturday has over 80K signatureshttps://www.cbssports.com/n...r%2080K%20signatures(Not sure why that link doesn't work, let's try this one.) https://www.change.org/p/nfl-change-the-superbowl-to-saturdayPersonally, I think it's an excellent idea. I assume the NFL minds have done some sort of financial study, after all, it is all about the almighty $$. Are there more viewers on Sunday evening? Commissioner Goodall says Sunday has more viewers, I'm not so sure about that. Rams

I get up at the godforsaken hour of 4:30, mon-fri. Way earlier if I have to deal with snow. Saturday would be better for me, and I assume many others on the day shift workforce. Bump kick-off an hour earlier while there at it. But I’ll continue to show up to work sleep deprived and hungover once a year . Once a year, yeah right!

Lots of parties for the rich folks who can afford tickets and hotels on Saturday night. Owners and their rich friends spend LOTS of money at the local restaurants and clubs. There are also exhibitions and other events happening at the stadium and around town locally all week and weekend.
It really is a BIG deal where and when that game is held.

Oh, I fully agree for the host stadiums. My BIL has season tickets for the Chiefs games. I've been offered to go a few times and have never taken advantage of the offer. I don't like crowds and get a much better and more comfortable view sitting in my recliner at home watching. But there is no doubt the host city makes lots of bucks from such an event. And, yes those season tickets aren't cheap. I keep waiting for Lori and Carl to ask me to come along. Rams

Petition to move Super Bowl to Saturday has over 80K signatures
80K with nothing better to do but this?
Also, it gets replayed a dozen times.
Super Bowls may or may not be super. (loose truth in advertising)
The commercials are no draw for me either, and no excuse or justification for the other 98% terrible, insulting, infuriating, woke, loud ones.
I'd vote for: Doesn't matter, I might watch (some of it). Depends on what's on the other channels.

Thanks for the input. I really hope you're able to come out of that shell and express your real feelings eventually. Rams

doesn't matter, but Sunday's are usually more laid back relaxing watching more TV than Saturday's being out and about doing stuff.
I think would be wise to have the Superbowl say 5 p.m. on a Saturday so the establishments nearby earn more revenue staying an extra day on Sunday more thank likely. Then again, am sure that most who can afford and go to the Superbowl take off on Monday anyways.

Heh, they could really try to wring more out of the whole thing - play the first half Saturday late afternoon, have the half time show concert be a full blown concert event Saturday night, then play the 2nd half of the game Sunday evening.
Interesting observation in reference to the "Depends on what's on the other channels." comment...
Back in the early 90's, when the Cowboys were still a relevant team, I was working the video rental counter at the local Kroger. Since I didn't care about sportsball I always volunteered to work Super Bowl Sunday.
The single biggest days for video rentals were Super Bowl Sundays. One of the years the Cowboys won it we'd rented out every single last video we had.
(And after they won, a rather inebriated Jerry Jones said on TV for everyone to go to Kroger and buy the Cowboys Superbowl Champion t-shirts. Only problem was, they hadn't been delivered to the store yet. That was a fun night dealing with endless hordes of drunk Cowboys fans wanting their t-shirts that didn't exist yet.)

Krogers ? Shouldn’t a “real” Texan have worked for HEB ? HEB is what we refer to as "All hat, no cattle." Very liberal/anti-Texas company. Also, at the time the closest HEB was over 200 miles away. (Even today the closest HEB is 50 miles away.) But alas, way off topic for this thread.

Rams My buddy had free tickets to a super bowl in Jacksonville years ago. The tickets were through his son's employer for a sky box or what ever they call the party booths. He said it was cool to be there for the game but watching the game kinda sucked. When anything happened, they all turned around to watch the TV. Once was enough. He'd watch it at home on his TV. I couldn't care less where or when it's played. Or who is playing.

Had free tickets and transportation to the Indy 500 once, I thought why not, something different to do. Rode the bus with Indiana's Governor and a bunch of other important folks. Police escort in the HOV lane both ways. Only got invited to go because I knew the right person. Regardless, it sucked like rotten eggs, if they hadn't had the big screen to watch, I wouldn't have known who was leading or who won. Wouldn't go back if offered again. Don't like crowds. Rams

I would have gone to Indy 500 if even only once am sure great experience seeing the cars zipping by at 200 mph?? or not???
I do not know much about the halftime show at this year's Superbowl but after hearing all the names being listed (most of which I have no clue who they are besides Snoop Dog), it seems like a ton of singers or whatever you call them for a halftime show. I wonder how that will pan out this time???
Poor Brady almost squeaked it out making yet another comeback but the Rams got lucky and pulled it out lasting by the skin of their teeth. Chiefs vs. Bills, not much I can say only need to watch the last 2 minutes of 4th quarter to see it was the best game in NFL history.

I'll just say this, it wasn't worth it to me. It's loud and crowded, too many drunks and way too many people for me. The cars zip past so fast you can't even read the numbers without that big screen to keep you up to date on what's happening. You get a much better show of the race by watching it on TV. Rams
