past 2x's recently at fast food joints they ask you if the senior citizen discount applies? I was shocked to have been asked that so soon recently...... Even my retired neighbor down the street pushing age 70 asked me if I was retired yet last weekend talking to him as I stopped to chat driving by him being outside... About 12 years ago, age 38, I had a younger co-worker ask me if I was pushing 50 yet. That one sorta ticked me off.. It was fun age 18 looking older say age 21 or so to buy alcohol or go in bars illegally, but times surely have changed.. Any other signs of getting old to share?

Just I can no longer do deep knee bends and getting back up after kneeling on the ground to access something is harder.
Oh, I forgot, sleeping habits, but that might be work related (retried so not doing an 7-4 job).

I still find it easy to get down, just the opposite getting back up though. I used to work 14-16 hrs every day, can't do it anymore. [ don't have to] You think those could be age related ? Heck I've only been around for slightly more than 7 decades.

Approaching dang near 7 and 3/4 decades on Earth. When Exactly did down git so fer away? When Exactly did gittin back up become THAT much of a chore? Far as those senior discounts go I ain't skeered to ask fer em. No How No Way can I run 10 12 miles before breakfast anymore! And THAT'S been a day or five ago! RIDE SAFE.

most all do that having to enter a birthdate into their cash register for alcohol, at least around here. maybe I should say YEP, senior citizen, to get that 10% discount?? 1st time ever month or so ago, took me by surprise at fast food place so maybe that is their policy to ask, not sure?

Wanna feel old? If you're being ID'd for alcohol, all they need to see is the first two digits of your birth year.... Anyone with a 19 there is over 21 now. ...and there are even quite a few with a 20 there that are also old enough to drink.

Re: you know you are getting old when....
You don't shower and shave every day (or even every other day) anymore because it is too much work.
When most of your pants stay up just fine with no belt.
Which is good because most of your belts have become too short, even on the first hole.
When a really good bowel movement can be the highlight of your day (or week).

Had one ask me recently in a joking manner if I was 21 and old enough to buy the wine I had on the counter...was a required thing to ask. I told her no but all my grandchildren are. Cracked her up. Want to know signs of getting old(er)? Forget it, don't feel like typing that much, besides it's now 2:15pm and I'm late for my PM nap.

I kinda wish I could say that. I still shower 2 or 3 times day, I think. If I let go of my pants before I get the belt hooked they end up around my knees. [ 36]. I've had to poke extra holes in my belts. As far as the last one, thats getting better but its taken 6 years.

I'm also 36 (or 7) I've had to poke extra holes in my belts.I've done that. I'm kinda in the habit of morning and evening showers. If I get sweaty/dirty working during the day I'll take another if needed. Sometimes I want one just to warm up, I can't take getting cold anymore. so I go thru a lot of hot water. I've had to buy new pants [ smaller ] and now those are too big [ 36 ]. 34's will slide right on, but, they'll stay in place until I get belt buckled. I kept getting smaller, now kinda leveling out. 83# loss in 2.5-3 months. Too cheap to buy too many new belts, so I punch another hole or two in them. As far as the last, chemo raises heck. They pumped their poison into me 15 times. Never again. The radiation [ 70 ] is bad enough, but, no more of their death rays either.

Holy crap. Heck of way to lose weight.
My quickest loss ever was a week of food poisoning. I don't recommend that either (as every ounce went out my bungholio).

I've put about 20 back on recently, up to about 170# now. I like being skinny again so I'm trying not to gain anymore. But after 6 years taste is coming back so I'm eating more.

Ever since I can remember I have always been heavier say 200lbs. but ever since say 15 years ago have been edging closer to that 300lb. range. Not sure where all that weight near 90lbs. came on but sitting at a desk for decades does not help. Wish I could still fit into size 36/38 pants (never going to happen again) vs. well over 40 waist now. I told the wife if I get over 300lbs. shoot me put me out to pasture.... You know it is getting bad when you have to shop 1st time ever in the big and tall section of stores and tall is not the issue.

I have been fighting Crohns since 2000 and at that time I was about 165. I have had many operations since then and fight to get to 140. So there is good and bad on both sides of the fence. My fridge is full of 2000 calorie shakes and have to drink two a day. I will always feel blessed to still be able to right my bike and get down the road. Yes to be In my 70s and all may be tough at times but am truly blessed!

The bone cracking isn't a problem for me.
What I'd like to lose is the TV test pattern sound out of my head (tinnitus).
Only 22 out, but with the 25 knot wind, going to the mailbox nearly froze my dangley parts off.

"Wait til you get to the point where she won't do either".
Last year at this time my girl had to have her knee replaced. After the operation, I never saw a person in so much hurt and pain and discomfort. I was helping her do her meds, get dressed, Eat meals, and everything. This all stifled anything like going upstairs and doing something.
But in her wisdom, (after she recovered) she has reminded me that we have each other, And that we are best friends, and we can face these OLD problems Together.

You know you're old when your avatar is a dog that dies 10 years ago. I miss that little guy. And my Valkyrie that I bought new will turn 25 this year. Still at 65 I work 12 hours a day. (In the restaurant business only the Boomers show up every shift.) But I'm at the age where hard work is good... it means I'm going to live.
