As Yellowstone is done for the season, we started watching the 1st. season of Reacher series on Amazon Prime last night. Damn good series so far after 2 episodes. Will probably finish the series this weekend.

I agree. Just saw it last night when my Britbox "app" did not work on my Roku so I went to Amazon (yes I know but.......).

At least they got his size and height right (as compared to the two movies with Tom Cruise).  We will watch a couple of more episodes tonight.

Good so far.

Pretty good show so far.   For some reason, my wife who usually doesn't watch this kind of show seems very interested.   Hmmm, interesting......

I've read most of the Reacher books and so far (first two shows) I'm impressed with their representation of all the characters, especially Reacher. the only deviation I have noticed is Joe was a Treasury Agent (DHS did not exist when the book was written).

Really......  I will have to check my "account".   I may have to quit for a year to see what the actual cost is if I don't have Prime.  I don't watch the Prime channel as much as I use to but they also now own "Audible" and I listen to books all the time when riding.  Wonder how the loss of Prime will affect that, if at all.

Edit: Mine says $119 per year right now.

Just watched Episode One.  Good stuff, nice to see a solid action show without gay interracial sex tossed in just for woke's sake.  It seems several of the last series I've seen have been tainted with such debauchery.  Not only is it disgusting, it could bring great balls of fire and brimstone on raining down on our dumb asses.  Undecided

I digress...

Really fun show for action lovers.  I shall continue.

Rams,
Funny you mention this. Wife and I started watching this last night. At the end of first episode, I wasn't a fan. I asked her if she wanted to watch something else. Her response was, "we should watch another 1 or 2 episodes just to make sure".

Not as good as Yellowstone or Longmire or Queen of the South. I wasn't a fan after the first episode. It's growing on me, acting sucks. Better than any other current choices. Amazon's trick is to get you hooked on the first series free, then charge you for the rest.

I watched the first episode of Yellowstone.

It looked like a load of models touting western wear. No one wearing a dirty wrinkled shirt, jeans etc.

Silly. Lifetime soap opera drama on the range.

Pais,
Yeah, I've definitely noticed some differences in her attention span while watching.   I'm thinking about putting that blood pressure thingy on her to monitor her blood pressure while she's watching to see specifically which parts get her attention.   I'm thinking this would be a good indicator.   Although, I'm pretty sure I know which "parts" she's really paying attention to. (Speaking of parts of the show)

Speaking of Yellowstone, I have not watched it but the wife and I have watched "1883".

Its billed as a "prequel" to Yellowstone.   Let's say, based on what I have read elsewhere, its pretty realistic.  But I was not there.  And it is pretty harsh, which is what I heard and read it was like.

yah,  netflix is also going up 1 buck per month for basic 1 user coverage 10 per month vs. 9.  Pretty soon all these 'extra' pay per view movie stations will be outta my house as well if they keep increasing pricing every  year or two by a few bucks.   I still have dishnetwork but without the 25 off per month to stay with them,  I would drop them in a heartbeat.

A few I know have YOUTUBE TV and no complaints at around 66 per month.  Anyone have that for TV?  goods? bads?

I recently watched the 8 episodes of Kristen Bell's main actor (never thought she could act)  The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window  was interesting and different the final episode knowing the KILLER was never guessed at all by me, total shock.  Pretty interesting script and writing I thought and something different each episode is not that long (25 minutes each or so)  only 8 episodes.

I know this is sort of topic...

Just for the record (since someone asked), I have a Sony Bravia TV, a Roku device/box, and a TIVO system (OTA Antenna).   I don't watch local TV but do watch some series (now not as many) on the CBS, ABC, NBC, and the PBS network (I think that is the one they have Antiques Roadshow but it has not been live for some months now).

Anyway, the Roku device is the main thing.  I pay for three networks.  I have Amazon Prime (so I can get stuff shipped cheaply and get some access to their free stuff on the network.  Cost is abut $10 per month (Well I do an annual so....)

I also have BritBox.  Lots of good series from them just have to have the subtitles on.  Cost is about $7 per month (again I do it annually).

When its football season (NCAA) I get Sling to get ESPN and other football networks.  Cost, about $30 per months and in January I dump it.

I also have access to the CBS network on the Roku device because the local CBS channel here fads in and out sometimes on the OTA system.  It is amplified but it appears the UHF channels are not getting the needed boast or its the Antenna.

Also on the Roku device there are lots of other "free" things.  One of them is Pluto which has some network and other stuff.

I know lots of "stuff".   I have not broken it down before but it seem like I am paying about $30 a month for all these things, except in the fall when it goes up about $30 per month when I get Sling for my wife to watch football.

Edited to add

We pay for internet of course and then Prime and Netflix.

There are a lot of varied channels available through our Roku device and I also watch a lot of documentaries on Youtube for free. There's also some very entertaining material on youtube e.g. DUST. Sandra is an Italiaphile and watches a realtor named Romolini every week when he uploads a new property video.

That's enough to make anyone's eyesight go bad but on a cold winter day it's good to have.

My ISP bill is too high as it is so if I can't watch something for free, I don't. I have ROKU on both my active TV's but have no idea if Reacher is available w/o cost on them although when first turned on, it shows a long list of available sources of entertainment...HULU, Netflix, etc.

In my case its on Paramount Plus which use to be CBS which I think I pay $6.95 a month to watch CBS shows with out commercials.   I think its cheaper it you allow commercials.

Right now its limited to Blue Bloods, 1883, NCIS, and Young Sheldon.

All of my stuff comes through my Roku device or my TIVO system (which is just live TV).

Based on the fiction novel Killing Floor by Lee Child. 1997.

Instead of watching the series, cause I don't have the subscriptions I need, I decided to read the book.

It's pretty good, but a little of a stretch in the believable department at times.

It's funny reading about phone books and maps being used.

No but they just informed us that Prime account is increasing to $139 per year.

One thing I noticed on Reacher was the attention to body markings etc. after the fact but the time span was relativity short thus requiring this extra thought. Liked the flashbacks scene's also.

I am not sure how this Amazon Prime thing works but the assumption is that if you have Amazon Prime, you have access.

Now the question becomes, as you stated above, how do you watch it on your TV.

Depends on several things, here is a list from a search I just did.

But, it depends on what brand, kind of TV you have.

https://news.yahoo.com/ways-watch-amazon-prime-video-175400903.html

You will see that with a "smart" TV its easy.  Next you get something like a "roku" stick.  Next you might be able to use your phone directly (as shown below).
