Whats up with the living conditions for the athletes at the Chinese Winter Olympics???? A lot of the athletes ANDofficials are very upset. They are given very small living quarters and they get the same catered meal 3 times a day and it is not hot meals. The meals consist of crisps, nuts and some chocolate. Some of the athletes are losing weight and strength. The ski slope athletes are complaing they are having to perform in temperatures well below the allowed temperatures to perform. The slopes are icy and some athletes are getting hurt when they fall.
Whats ip with all this? Are they not giving the athletes enough nutrients to make them weaker on purpose?

First and foremost, its china. They are complaining about the accommodations and quality of food. Its china. Everyone should have known better than to allow the olympics there.

It’s probably better than conditions the citizens live with.

We were in China in 04 as O2S said. Food was OK as we were on a tour. We had some meals with the locals and it would not have worked for me if I was in the work force. When I was working , 5000 calories a day was needed to keep my weight on. If I cut back , I lost weight fast. Athletes know what they need to consume to get by. I seriously doubt if China would allow food brought in. We were stopped in customs several times because we smelled like we had food in our bags. (patrol dogs) We were taken to an airport one morning and given a breakfast to go. We were told to leave the uneaten food on the seats. Before I got off the bus , Some locals were allowed on and gathered the uneaten and half eaten food to take to families or sell. They cleaned the bus on the way out. da prez Been there , will not go back

I noticed an awful lot of falls by athletes more so than normal when skiing/snowboarding. The announcers said nothing on not eating properly blaming wind/ice/weather conditions instead. I wonder in reality a little bit of both? I think it sucks that athletes cannot take say 10-20 supporters/friends with them before and after competing to help them out ahd have more fun, etc.... Welcome to CHINA folks...

Skiing on man made snow is different than real snow. From what I read almost all them snow is manmade, basically ice crystals.

Not only fake snow, it's being held in a dystopian hellscape... The white thing circled is the Shougang Big Air, where the Olympic "Big Air" competitions are being held... For some reason China frowns on any broadcasts of the venue that aren't tight in shots... Can't imagine why.

Haven't seen any Olympics at all for 2 reasons.
1. They're in China. 2. They're on NBC.
I might check out the gold hockey game if USA is in it.

Whatever the "bottom line" news, FB, or any other incidental news otherwise, nope. I mean a ski jump located in a abandoned steel mill site, give me a break.
