Did a LOT of observing and pondering while in the high seat of an 18 wheeler. There Are and Continues to be a small segment that will remain stupid in a situation where they Should have been smart-but weren't. Those R R crossings that have a Steep incline either way or both ways Should NOT be used bye big trucks. REASON-high centered. The trailer Frame gits hung up on the center portion and yer STUCK. Cuz the trailer wheels are now airborne and no longer Rolling. And You've lost traction cuz of the angle with the tractor-drive-tires.
Far as cages M/Cs and pedestrians go that stupid thingy seems to take Control. And Sadly I've witnessed that chit first hand!

I have Exactly NO idea Why people CHOOSE to ignore warning Lights Warning Bells and a WARNING WHISTLE and CHOOSE Instead to race the train!

That Train IS ALWAYS Closer than it appears to be!
I just looked it up. The average weight of a B N S F locomotive is 425000 pounds or 212.5 Tons. An average 18 wheeler you see most days-5 axle unit-with out permits is 80000 pounds-40 tons. ONE locomotive IS More than 5 times heavier than a fully loaded 18 wheeler! The coal trains that come thru here have 5 or 6 locomotives and I have No idea How MANY cars! It's simple-you go head to head with a train-YOU LOSE! RIDE SAFE.
