Not very often are we able to take our first ride of the year in February. The last time I did that was in 2018. The rain came through last night and washed away most of the salt and sand. I took advantage of the temps in the 60s to go for ride.

Had lunch in Acton, MA at a Chinese restaurant about 4 miles east of the location of the former Moto Market. Got my usually General Gao's chicken and hot and sour soup. Was good. From there I meandered on various back roads, including Route 62 in Sterling, for a ride up to Wachusett Mountain. While passing the bunny slope off of Mountain Road, I waved to the skiers and some waved back. Stopped at the DCR lodge to stretch my legs and met a guy from Framingham on a big Indian with bags and tour pack. We chatted for a while and then went our separate ways. Total ride was 107 miles. Generally the roads were good.

I turned over 26,000 miles. I'll need to take the bike to a dealer this spring for the valve clearance check/adjustment. Either the intake or exhaust valves (don't remember) are shim adjustments. I've watched the maintenance videos and I've decided I don't want to tackle it myself.

While I was moving things around the garage to get the bike put away, Tom Mannell pulled in on his Spyder and we shot the bull for a while. Was nice to see you Tom and catch up.

Glad you got out, saw a few bikes in the area today. Especially nice before the 12 inches we are getting tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks Gary! I saw some bikes once the sun came out about 1:00. Not as many bikes as I expected though. Felt good to get out for a ride.    cooldude

Great you were able to get out and ride. Unfortunately I had to work yesterday so I couldn't take advantage of the nice weather. If only it had been the weekend Cry

I also got out to ride on Wednesday but on my KLR 650. The roads are still too sketchy for a nice road bike.   Grin
