I have an observatory in the back yard (well about 300 feet from the house) that has been there since the turn of the century.   It has gone unused for the past several years (many reasons) so, today, it is one step closer to being operational again.

I moved the old iMac down there (were it was until early last year) and got the interface between the computer and the telescope's shaft mouted optical encoders operational.

For the first time, all the electronics are commercial (well except for the monitors they were always commercial).  We shall see if it works.  Some pictures of the computer monitors and screens.

The reason for the two monitors is one is used when I am standing up at the telescope.  But when I am seated at the table, its too high up to really use.

Very impressive.  I'm a bit jealous.  Love astronomy, but do not have the money to do it right.

I have some good binoculars, but that's it.

Pretty cool Bill.   cooldude

Whether an observatory or other, that looks like a nice building.
