can anyone help with specs for forged pistons ?

in reference to this old thold thread,
http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,8527.0.html

i have the exact same problem on my supercharged valkyrie.

the bike has been running great since i installed the supercharger in 2013,
but suddenly she started spitting the oil out of the crank case breather filter.

found 2 pistons are broken : segment between the piston rings are broken off.

the inside lining of the cilinders still looks OK, no need to increase it to bigger diameter.

who can help me on specs for forged pistons ?
can i assume they should be the same for my European F6C as for a US Valkyrie?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

Contact Jeff K - he has had many sets made and has all the build sheets.
At one time I had a brand new set of Ross Racing pistons for a Valkyrie but sold them.
With the specs Jeff K has, you should easily be able to get a set fabricated.

If you do get the specs from JeffK and look to get them made let me know. I MAY be interested in a set also. Maybe getting 12 instead of 6 could save is both a couple bucks.? Someday I really want to see what a 50 shot of nitrous will do to my 1/4 mile times.   …..it will most likely break a piston lol

Pistons aren't your problem.  It's ring gap.  Under boost you need to open up the ring gap a little or the ends of the ring will meet and break the ring land on your piston, whether it's forged or not.

Just out of curiosity, why do the rings touch under boost?

I’m not an expert. But as I understand it, heat is going to expand the rings. All engines have a specified ring end gap to account for that. I imagine a turbocharged engine or a supercharged engine requires a little more than stock.
