In Mississippi, Robert E. Lee's Birthday is a State Holiday. I understand it is in several other Southern States also. In April, the state also celebrates Confederate Memorial Day.

Today is Confederate Heroes’ Day (Confederate Memorial Day), a day commemorating those who died fighting for the Confederate States of America during the War Between the States. An official state holiday in Texas, Confederate Heroes’ Day has fallen annually on January 19—the birthday of Robert E. Lee—since its approval on January 30, 1931.

Fiddle Mike, was looking it up and discovered Texas also celebrates Confederate Memorial Day on April 26. It's just not an official holiday like it is here on the 3rd Monday of April. According to the wikipedia entry i read, TX's Confederate Heroes Day is a joint celebration of Robert E. Lee's and Jefferson Davis' birthdays.

No problems, brother. You're mentioning of Confederate Heroes Day got me curious. We're celebrating the same thing just using different names for it. It's cool. Heard a lot about you and hope to meet you some day.
