The Indian motorcycle demo truck was making a visit to my local dealer. I stopped by this afternoon and took a new Indian Pursuit for a ride. I thought I'd be blown away at how awesome it would be, but I found it anything but. First and foremost, the fuel control is awful. I hope this is some pre-production unit, but the stumble when re-applying the throttle was terrible. The throttle was generally "soft", too. Slow response. The steering was heavy, and I felt like it resisted corners, but then fell into them after you forced it. Maybe the tire pressures were off; I don't know. But it wasn't a positive experience for me. I'm a tall guy, so my ergonomic feelings probably don't match other people's. The windshield powers up and down. Fully up, I have to look through it and it wasn't optically clear by any means. All the way down, the top edge was right in my field of view. I would have definitely liked for it to go two inches lower so I could look over it. The floorboards were large, and they felt in the way when we stopped and I had to put my feet down. May not be an issue for those with smaller feet than me.

Over all, I was less than impressed. Pretty wild how my 24 year old Valk is still a strong player in the big bike game.

I rode an Indian Springfield a while back. It is way closer to a Tourer
(hard bags and a windshield) than a pursuit. I liked most things about
the Springfield, quality feel and handling. The throttle seemed like it
was "drive by wire" instead of an actual throttle cable. The potato-potato
motor was the weakest point of it.

Our Valkyries are pretty swell  cooldude

I like the looks of the Challenger.  (like my supervalk)

I've twice gone to ride demos from a trailer.  Both times what I wanted to ride was out, so I chose the next best one I could go right now on.  I wasn't looking for a new bike at all, I just like to ride some new and different ones for grins.

I had several Vtwins and my Hog for 18 years.... so no more for me.   Grin     But I'll take one for a ride.

I just can't settle for less than this  (no matter how nice or newer any other bike is).

I've done the Indian demo rides twice.  I was disappointed both times.  One time Romeo, Aquaman, and I rode our Valkyries to the dealer and parked them right outside the door to the showroom.  We had such a crowd gathered around our bikes, the manager came out to see what the attraction was.  He jokingly asked us to move the bikes as they were attracting more interest than the demo bikes.

Demo day'd Indians twice. A Chieftain and I can't remember.

Small, feet up (hate that), shaky.

Demo day'd a Victory Vision once. If I'd ever wanted a V twin this would be the bike.

Ooooooops  - no longer made.  Grin
