I would LOVE to talk to MOM. Had MOM and Dad still lived they would be 113 years on this orb. MOMS day Mom got from me handkerchiefs and a bouquet of handpicked flowers from her gardens.  For a number of years Dad reminded me Mothers day was so and so. And Mom would remind me Fathers day was so and so! I Miss You and LOVE You MOM.  angel

Spent the last three days at my mothers house. She has been wanting to get her basement and garage decluttered. I was able to make a dent in it between two trips to the recycling center and a day long bond fire behind the garage. I’m extreme lucky to still have mother in good health and a sound mind at nearly 94 years of age. Dad has been gone 12 years and he was one of those never throw anything away kind of guys. Mother enjoys her independence and still drives to church, the grocery store, and of course the hairdresser on Thursdays. I wish she didn’t have to spend quite so much time alone but she enjoys reading and has some great friends that got together regularly before Covid.

We talk on the phone everyday it’s been good for both of us, but I still get the feeling I take her too much for granted. I’m blessed.

I’m blessed.

I have no doubt.

Now get back to work and get Mom's garage cleaned up.  Wink

You're supposed to buy bonds not burn them.   Smiley        sorry.

probably next weekend taking mother in law up to see both kids 3.5 hours away.  Surprise her since daughter got another cat in her house, now 3, the 3rd one she does not know about.  But, daughter is going to give 3rd cat probably to my son and his house and 2 tenants since is an older cat and the 2 younger cats tolerate the 10 year old cat, but hiss at her and pretty sure that 3rd much older cat would prefer to have a house all to herself, sorta a loaner.

Sure beats where the 3rd cat was prior a friend of daughters having 2 dogs that terrorized the cat horribly to the point of hiding all day long in fear of being harrassed by the 2 dogs.

probably should get my mom something although she has no memory of anything, and not sure how many more mother's day she has left?  She likes flowers but not sure at this moment she would care?  I guess she has a sweet tooth so candy is always good?

This is the day my kids are supposed to celebrate and appreciate their mother, right?
I'm supposed to do the same thing with my Mom, their grandmother, right?

Then how come I'm always the one paying for lunch/dinner and all the celebrations?
Same thing happens on Father's Day.  Hmmm

restaurants would all be outta business if everyone like me.  Cook out at home is what we almost always do daily.  Not that expensive for 5-8 people if doing it that way.

was floored though last time up to visit kids my 21 year old son splurdged on the bill for dominoes pizza 40 bucks for 6 pizzas, they kept though over 2 pizzas as leftovers.   2funny

I'd suggest most folks do eat at home on a daily basis but, the last thing I'm going to ask my wife to do is cook for everyone else on her day.   Roll Eyes

Yes, they do but, it should be because they want to, not because they have to (at least on such a special day).

Certainly, but my mom, the great cook, came to a time when she told the old man he was taking us all out to dinner and letting the restaurant do all the work.  And that was that.

Moms have a union of one, with a big vote.

And I have no problem with good Chinese delivered for Thanksgiving either.   Grin
