When to a firearm Auction Sat. and really got a "LEARNING" on what the gun market is doing now. Now, being one that keeps up with said market, I found that I would not pay the $$$$ that the items were bringing. I.E. Kimber Custom II , 45 ACP, in case, $775. , Colt KIng Cobra, 357 Mag. $740. Smith and Wesson Mod 586, 357  mag, $575. Smith and Wesson , mod 60, 38 special, $500. Long story short, why are firearms going at such high prices ? This Auction was in the small town of Winchester, Ky. Most in attendence looked like your adverage Farmer. I saw one in Bib Overhauls and a long beard spend $3,800 in about 10 minutes. So these were not your big city buyers looking to re-sell for a profit. These were folks stocking up.  Undecided

My local Wal-mart doesn't even have any 12 gauge shotgun shells. I have no idea why it's so crazy.

Sales have been up sharply since O-BOOB was elected, creating higher prices and reduced inventory.
Gun inventory has recovered in recent months but ammunition is still in short supply and will be thru spring and maybe summer.

People are buying that is the bottom line... Pete.

The Firearms Industry should award him the  " Gun Salesman of the Year Award ".........    cooldude

Actually, prices have relaxed quite a bit from their high points right... Stripped AR15 lowers were in the $250-$300+ range for a while, they're back into the $100 range now... Some calibers of ammo are still difficult to find, but most can be had from almost reasonable prices again...

Local gun store's been advertising "Pre Obama Pricing" on the radio lately... Things are calming down a bit...

Of course, all it'd take is the announcement of one "initiative" by the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and all that would change RIGHT quick...

We had a gun show around October here at the fairgrounds. The gun sales were down somewhat but the bullet sales were through the roof. (getit) Three 48' semi trailers in three days. You could still get .22 and some of the odder sizes, but the common calibers were gone. The guy behind the counter said its like that everywhere he goes. His water bottle had only 1/3 down and he said he'd opened it an hour ago. I alotted $300 but spent about $450.
