So,,,, I was looking at some old slides/images and was considering a new topic.  One of the images was of my first GPS, a Magellan Meridian Color GPS (See image below).

As I looked at the GPS, I noted the odometer was showing 25,982 miles (on the way back from my fist Inzane, July 2004).  So, I checked and I purchased the bike new in June of 2003.

So, that means in first 13 months I owned the bike, I put almost 26,000 miles on my Valkyrie.  Just saying.....

I put 20k on the Bullet the first season I owned her.  That's a Gunnison season, so in about six months.

This made me pause to thing about all the Hondas I've owned, all since the 1975 GL1000 model made its appearance. On Hondas alone I'm right at 600k miles but when compared to DDT on one Valkyrie...mine took eight different bikes over 45 years. Makes my efforts seem kinda puny to me, and that's not even considering the quiet, subdued, non-thrill seeking riding done in my more quiet years as a teenager. Roll Eyes

Back then we built our own bikes since none of us could afford to buy one outright. They were sorta a Heinz 57 variety, mine was crazy fast but took while to get there. A good road bike but don't go off road, didn't have the gearing until I finally found some different sprockets that fit. Then it would only go about 85mph but would do it in a couple blocks. Grin The local car junkyard kept us in car tires, both front & rear, I usually kept an extra in the garage. The Fonz was a real candy-ass compared to us. A bad bike, an even "badder" DA, and a lover du jour in back. One cute little one liked to lean back against the sissy bar, hang on to the side and wrap her well shaped/shaven legs around my waist while we cruised. Happy Days indeed! This was all BC. Ask me in person sometime what that means & I'll share.  cooldude
