After primarily riding the '08 Wing lately, I had to move my Valk to get the lawnmower out, so figured while it was out I'd ride her around the block at least.

That woke something up in me that'd been sleeping.

Today ran some errands on the Valk....

Yup, old girl's still got it! Took me about a mile to get used to the Valk vs. the Wing but once I did it was just like old times..... Love the Wing, but something so primal and basic about the Valk...

And, as I believe Joe says "Folks will walk past a thousand Gold Wings to get a look at one Valk!" I hadn't noticed I almost never got compliments on the bike while on the Gold Wing...

Three stops out running errands today, half dozen comments, questions, "What is that thing???"'s etc.....

Yup... 24 year old bike, and she's definitely still got it!

I feel the same way when I ride my 2003 Valk.  Its only 19 years old but......   After a road trip on the wing and then a short trip on the Valk, you really understand why you like the Valkyrie.

Oh....   not to hijack your thread yesterday took the Valkyrie out for a ride and then a shorter ride on the ST1300.  It is something "interesting" when I looked down at the speedometer on the road (55 MPH) I had just traveled on the Valkyrie and saw the ST was at 70 (well its really 65 but.).

All three bikes are amazing and different and each has there place in my life.

They're great old bikes!

Wish my silver old girl didn't catch whatever "it" is that is keeping her from roaring back to life.  I've been trying everything within my abilities to get my Bullet running, to no avail.  Just can't put a finger on it, but if it's carbs my fingers aren't going to touch 'em.  Limitations and all.  Anyway I'm pretty darned certain I'm about over trying with my novice's box of mechanical tools, skills and patience.

Now to figure out my next step, sans trailer.   Cry

Yeah, a fuel injected Wing is sounding more tempting all the time...  Too bad my garage is plum full up.

He's a few hours away in Pueblo.  I hate imposing on club members but will always gladly pay for the work.  I'd rather pay a member than a stealership any day!  There are some other CO members that know their way around a Valkyrie too but none are much closer.  Regardless I can't just let the bike sit.  It all hinges on if I can figure out how to get it where it needs to go.  I'm not even sure how I'm gonna turn the bike around 180° to face the exit ramp of the shed.  Tried it, it's too tight even for a twenty-five point turn.  I think I'll have to get a couple guys to help by manually pulling the rear wheel around while I attempt to keep her stationary in front.   Huh?

Fun times!

Yeah I get it  Log about 200 miles on the bmw before getting a shot at riding the Valk on Sundays

Commuting is so much better on the 1150 but there is just something about the way I feel when on
the Valkyrie that keeps me coming back time and again

Still the pull of owning a Wing is stronger every year   Maybe I will pull that trigger too one day

I know what you mean Zerk. Certainly not why I bought my Valk but we are all human. We enjoy being complimented regardless whether it's our beloved Valks or otherwise.   Smiley

I finally picked my bike out of storage this week. Moved it from there to my garage. Shoulder is keeping me from riding and I am getting grumpy. While at the storage building, their were others there. Once my cover was off I had 3 guys standing around it asking various questions and complimenting. The pressure was now on. I got situated and climbed aboard. Key, fuel, choke..........hit the button and she came to life....I started breathing again.   Cool

Not long ago, I and a friend went into a local "Other Than" Honda dealership looking to see what helmets they might have for my friend.   When we came out, the fat girl was surrounded.   That's always a fun experience.   She's still sexy as ever and still among the most powerful cruisers.

IMHO, Joe Boyde and Honda hit a Grand Slam, out of the park, game winning hit with the Valkyrie.  Yeah, she's still got it and I've got her and her sister.  Wink

Nothing else like them.  Mine's rebadged so when I tell them it's a Honda they always say HONDA?

although not valk, my kids HONDA MAGNA black/chrome 1997 got 2 compliments from age 12 or so kids at 2 kwik trips filling up gas while driving last weekend 3.5 hours north to get it to my kid to drive for the summer finally.  It was not super cleaned up either ran out of time to get it super clean with all that factory OEM chrome on it against black.  Got a few eye sights from a few HD riders at gas stations as well, but none said a word.    At least it got 45 avg mpg vs. the Valks 35-38 or so right with gas being over 4 bucks per gallon now....

My wife and I are fueling up at a gas station today and a Harley Rider pulls in, gets off, walks over and first words are, “that’s a big bike, what is it?” Long conversation before we depart.
