The rear tires on the trike were old...really old. Neither showed in cracking anywhere and was nowhere near down to the wearbars. BUT...one had a manufacture date of 2610(12 years old), the other was in early 2011(11 years old). I wasn't about to ride anywhere this year on old rubber like that so invested $350 out the door for a set of two new Falkens from Discount Tire. A bit more than I wanted to pay but I didn't feel like waiting for the shop to order in the tire I was interested...and would have only saved me about $50-60. Now I have new rubber all the way around, newly flushed rear brakes, pads have plenty of meat left so only pulled them out to sand down and reinstall. At least I didn't have to pull the calipers to do that, just a couple clips, 2 retaining pins and they lift right out. Next project...a good wash & detail. The old girl is diiirr--ty from sitting for the last few months. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I might take a ride, sure seems to run good. Dagwood and I are planning on leaving out of my place on June 10, can't wait...have an itch that needs scratching. Just hoping nothing new shows up in the way of mechanical issues.   Wink

Dagwood?  Sounds like you'll have some big tall sammiches for the trip!   cooldude

Yes...his last name is Bumstead so a "Dagwood" screen name seems natural. Comes from Michigan, plans to catch the ferry across the pond and spend one night here. Then we leave for Billings the next morning. Looking forward to getting rid of the winter stink with some wind therapy. After Inzane, have no idea where I'm headed...but don't want to return to Wisconsin right away if possible.

John--your bike looks terrific, just like your ole two wheeler did.  You and Dag have a good trip!
