Bought a non running I/S due to gas tank corrosion..cleaned tank and replaced petcock. did carb overhaul and got it running for about 50 miles. has compression and spark on all cylinders but for some reason cylinder 1-3-5 stop working. Did I miss something here...totally run out of diagnostic ideas....help

Check fuel flow. Since it's one side, I suspect a plugged line.

Or there was more debris in the tank or the pilot passageways did not get properly cleaned.
What is your initial setting on the pilot needles? Turn them out to around 2.5 turns just for reference and see if that brings the cylinders back in.
Are they running on the mains when accelerating?

was set @ 2.5 turn...will pull the tank again and reseal it this time...might have to change all the jets on the carbs this time around.
