So I wanted to post some pics because I'm not happy with the way it turned out. I think I painted to many things white. I already painted a couple of pieces black that I had painted white. Anyway, shes almost done. I've done almost everything aside from motor work and tranny work. Bearings, seals, and a lot of other tedious work has already been done. Pictures include the blue leds I installed in the gauges and the under glow kit I installed. I'm considering painting the radiator covers black since I dont like the way they look white. Any advice that might make it look better would greatly appreciated. If you notice the cone filters I installed are alternating colors between silver and black because I ordered two sets of three and for some reason they came different colors and I didnt want to send them back and wait lol Thanks everyone!

Thank you, its been a neat journey working on this bike. I agree, I should have left those parts chrome instead of painting them white. I had this vision in my head and it didn't translate to reality well lol Thank you for your input and for the invite. Sadly, I'm working and wont be able to attend. I was leaning towards painting the front parts black. If that doesnt work I suppose I can order some chrome replacements lol Thanks again!

Oh and yes, I finally after many months of replacing vacuum lines and exhausting all options I finally pulled out the carbs to find them squeeky clean. The problem ended up being one of this little adjustment screws that open the air flow. The spring had bent sideways so one stayed opened when all the others were closed. She purrs like a kitten now and starts right up with absolutely no backfire.

Being "old school",  I LOVE chrome!!   The more the better.

I never understood the fad these days, to have everything "flat black".  Even with old cars.  Black bumpers and grills, instead of the chrome they came with?

We did that when something was SO BAD.......you covered it up with a can of BBQ paint laying around in the garage, because we had no money to fix it.   It was a "cop out" back then.....but is "cool" today??

Beats me. Times change I guess.   Lol!!!    Cry

But the white......actually goes with the theme you wish to have.   Even chrome painted the "body" color......is better than BBQ paint!!    cooldude

I think it's beautiful. You did a great job. Did you send parts out for chrome? If so, where did you send them? I'm just starting a Valkyrie Resto on a 1998 GL1500CT that I bought two months ago. If you are interested in seeing my project, here is the link to my Youtube Channel. I have 3 videos up so far on the Valk. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChQ2eXYtoQxq8Af5IQ1keIw
