From what I've read and heard there are no gun ownership restrictions in Alabama as far as definning what "arms" you may or may not own. The controlling factor is un-Constitutional federal law. The only law I have found pertains to concealed carry. What, if any, restrictions are there in your state other than the un-Constitutional restrictions?

BTW, couldn't afford it but I've always been partial to the Abrams A1M1 tank.

I was a little surprised when I bought my first handgun a few years after moving to Alabama.  I have the conceal carry permit which is I guess the run-of-the-mill permit in which I have to keep it concealed on my person or in my vehicle.  Don't know much about since I grew up in Iowa with shotguns and rifles, no pistols.  Also, this was the first time I ever bought a firearm at a convenience store / gas station.  I still smile when I think about going in the store to get a pack of cigs, a Mt. Dew, and a Snickers... then walking out with a gun!  The permit was very easy to get in both counties I've lived in; just fill out a paper with couple of questions, show my ID, and pay the fee.

The first and only time I was ever in Alabama was in 2006, I was playing music in Chattanooga. Took a day trip to Alabama, the first biz I remember seeing was called " GUNS and GUITARS! " and the first bumper sticker I saw on an Alabama car said " HAPPINESS IS A BELT FED WEAPON! ". I could live there very well thank you.....   Grin

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

yep, i love livin' in Bama. No BS gun laws. We still vote.....ok....i won't go there on any political affiliations  2funny

No laws/rules against using charcoal for bbqs, gas lawn mowers. No PETA folks doing stuipd stuff to our folks that fish or hunt (PETA folks wouldn't last too long down here....we have a way of taking care of crap like that).

hey, i realize the way we live in Bama may not be for EVERYONE. i respect that others like living in other areas....some with completely different laws/views (though i could never live somewhere where they have lots of gun control and other "silly" laws....just MY take.....).

But for me, THIS is the place to live....it agrees with my beliefs just fine, thank ya'......

Yes, for us.....gun control is STILL breathing and trigger control  Cheesy cooldude

Hey Tim, just heard that some whacko legislator has introduced a gun law for us that would actually limit what guns we could own. I'm gonna check further and will post.

darn....how did you find out about the vibrators? YES....there is a BS law....that says one can't own or sell vibrators. some legislator actually got that passed some years back....i think even USA Today carried the story. It's the Southern Baptist thang'.....ya know  crazy2

so ya can't have a vibrator....but you can have all the guns ya want....good tradeoff i suppose  Wink
