I'm wondering if someone can link me to a good VRCC thread on posting photos.? I've been told there is such a thread here. I've spent a few hours looking with search but no luck. Also, I can't use the Photostash system because I can't locate my VRCC "number" in my profile which is required. I searched the database for it but I'm not in there. I did upload some photos to Flickr but they don't wind up in the post. I've tried resizing them below 100Kb and still no go. It seems like this platform is sort of dated? Just saying that as it's not very intuitive to use, at least in this regard. I'm surprised it's this difficult to put up photos. Sorry everyone, I've spent severals hours on this with no luck or success.

I am sure someone will come along and show the link (Britman did the last time) but here is a short "story" on how it should work.

The website I use is https://postimg.cc

I don't know if you have to set up an account but I did.

Once you have access, there is a button at the top of the screen that says "upload".  You click on that and the program shows you a new page where you can look for your picture wherever you have it stored or, which is sometimes easier, have your browser up and not in "full screen" mode and have the file folder open such that you can see them both.  Then all you have to do is to drag the file over to the "upload" area and it will be done.

After the upload is complete there will be a list of "Links".  If I remember correctly the link for "forums" is the second one from the bottom.

You simple click on the copy link icon/thing and the link will be copied to your "clipboard".

Then you go to the forum where you want to put you message and "paste" it there.  I use "Control V" (passing the control key, holding it down and then pressing the "V".   The link will be pasted as needed.

Now, if you have read this far, I hope this does make some sense.

If not..... you can ask a question.  Maybe I might be able to answer it.

The search function seems a little screwed up, but I found one.

Scroll down two to Britman:

I only post pics from the web (not MY pictures).  To do that, find the picture you want to post, hit View Image to isolate the picture, then right click and click View Image Info, then highlight and copy the image info URL.  Then in your post on here click the Picture Frame on the far left, 2d row, below the B for bold.  That puts [img][img] in your post wherever you left the cursor, then put the cursor between them and paste the Image Info you copied between the two [img]s.  When you post your post, the pic will appear

To get your own pics on here, you have to post them online somewhere first, then follow the same instructions.

Great. I tried all the same things but used Flickr for the hosting service.  I bet I tried 5-6 different sizes and none worked. I even resized them first in "Preview" down as small as 70 Kb and nope... nothing but text in the post. As these were tests, I deleted them so as not to look like a nut.

OK, so I'll spend some time with the info you all have so graciously provided and hopefully soon, I'll be up to speed. with photos. I think now days for the most part, forums are designed to resize and such, uploaded photos automatically.  I belong to several Ford Diesel pickup truck forums as I also post videos of projects involving my fully self restored 2001 Ford F-250 4X4 pickup powered by a 7.3 International Harvester Diesel. I've posted lots of photos on those forums without such difficulty.

Thanks everyone... I'll get it.

By the way, I'm using a Mac.

I also am using a Mac.   No issues with the Photo website I linked.
