Ok, hi I got it mounted up, but at frist glance it looks like two many wires. Has anyone wired these up before? Two bad there are no instructions. As the bagger bigins!

Mine came with (limited) instructions. I'll see if I can find them and post them. Anyway, here's the wires you've got: ground right corner light left corner light center LED bar (solid) center LED bar (flashing) The deal is that you can hook the corner lights to either the tail light circuit to use as running lights or to the turn signal circuits. Depending on which wire you connect to the brake circuit, the LED will either come on and stay solidly lit when you brake, or will flash when you brake. It's pretty simple to figure out even if you don't have instructions. A continuity meter won't work because everything runs through a circuit board, so I use a battery charger set to 2 amps to systematically test wire combinations to figure out what's what.

Hey Thanks, That helps a lot. If you dind the instructions that would be great. I'll guve this a try. How did you conect then to the bike's wires, did you have to splice them, or is there jacks on the bikes wireing to plug them into? I used bullet connectors and made two-into-one pigtails using two short pieces of wire, two female connectors and one male connector. Under the right side cover is a large boot with a bunch of bullet connectors in it where the wiring harness is joined. Locate the circuit you want to tap into, let's say the brake light in this case. Unplug the connectors in this boot for the brake circuit, and plug the male end of your pigtail into it. Plug the male connector from the harness into one of the females on your pigtail. I then made a short wiring harness to run from this point back to the trunk, again using bullet connectors. Plug the wire intended for the brake light on the trunk into the other female on your pigtail. Do the same for your ground, and either tail ight or turn signals (a pigtail for each) if you're going to use them instead of the running light. This lets you hook everything up with no cutting or splicing of the stock wires. At the trunk end, I put female bullets on the home-made harness and males on the wires that come from the trunk. I ran my home-made trunk wiring harness from under the seat, along the inside of the fender strut cover and came out at the opening for the backrest bracket, ran up the inside of the bracket and to the underneath of the trunk. One small black zip tie holds it in place on the backrest bracket and it's practically invisible.

Thanks, I'll print that out, and it sounds like it should be short work, the way you have it. Thanks, Sharky How did you conect then to the bike's wires, did you have to splice them, or is there jacks on the bikes wireing to plug them into?

I've been looking at those VIP trunks for a while now, as the extra rear lighting would certainly add more visibilty. BUT, what exactly is it's capacity? Somewhere to lock the helmets away when stopping over somewhere is big factor. Will it comfortably hold two full face/flip face helmets?

Hi, I would have to say no to two full face helmits, it will hold my 3/4 and my woman's 1/2 helmit and some other stuff. I think the sissy bar bag with the round add on on top would surely hold more. I may look a round for a used HD trunk one of these days, but I don't want to move the bags out any more, so it's now a mater of what will fit between the bags. Neither the one I have nor the one shown in Sharky's picture will hold a full face helmet. While it's about 1 1/2 helmets wide, it's not deep enough. Mine just barely closes over my 3/4 helmet. I believe they make a bigger model.

I would like to see the bigger one, I could sell this one if I found the bigger one at the right price. I seen this one sell for anywhere from 100.00 to 135.00, Sharky I've been looking at those VIP trunks for a while now, as the extra rear lighting would certainly add more visibilty. I had a feeling that was the case. I just didn't look big enough. But, if it's true that there is a larger model out there....... ???
